What time should I arrive at my cruise?

If my cruise leaves at 7am, what time should I be there? Someone told me by 4am? That sounds soooo early!

I'd say at least an hour or so. Maybe even two. Inspection/passports/sign in/security can take a while. My first cruise it took an hour, second only 20 mins. Plus you want to make sure they don't misplace your luggage (happened to my mom, but found it later).

HAVE FUN!

Arrive 60-90 minutes before departure. If you have a suite or are a VIP/club passenger, you'll have priority boarding so you could get these right before boarding.

It depends on who you are going with. Call your cruise agency/travel agent or check online. You do not want to be too late, b/c they may not take boardings until right up when they leave. For example, Royal Caribbean ships will not let anyone board 1 hr before departure. Don't be late, that's my only suggestion!

I've never acually heard of a ship leaving in the morning, but for the best time, just call the line. THen stick to that time. They don't hesitate to leave people.

What time does boarding start? Just remember you need to be on that ship by 7am if that is when it sets sail...

I always showed up about the time the ship began boarding, say it began at 4am.. I got there about 4am. This way, all those people that have gotten there 90 minutes before can get on the ship...Just keep in mind that the entire check in process takes about an hour (but it doesn't feel like that long)

This is what Carnival Cruise Lines says:

"We strongly encourage you to arrive at the cruise terminal no more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled embarkation time for your cruise. Due to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, early arriving guests may not be permitted to enter the cruise terminal upon arrival. Early arrivals may have a prolonged wait time in potentially warm or inclement weather conditions. For your comfort and convenience, please plan for your arrival at the cruise terminal no more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled embarkation time for your cruise."

If the plane (that's transporting you to the port) leaves at 7:00 AM, then you should be at the airport at about 4:30 AM. If the ship is leaving at 7:00, I think that you can be safe if you arrive at the port at about 5:00. Just remember to leave at least 30 "safety" minutes AFTER you check it and register.

What kinda cruise are you going on that leaves that early in the morning. I have been on many many cruises and they always leave about 5:00 PM or later, never in the morning because they have to offload passengers when they come back from the previous trip.

I think you mis-read or its a mis-print and it should be 7:00 PM. Most cruise lines start boarding at about 1:00 PM and there is a four hour window for people to get there before departure time.

I always get into town the night before. I am booked on a cruise in Sept. out of Miami and even though we live in Atlanta, we are going to drive down on Sat. since our ship leaves Sunday at noon. The morning of embarkation, we will get to the pier at about 10:30 to 11:00. When you get your tickets, look through them and see what they tell you about the times and the process you will need to go through that day. If you are still not sure, call them and find out when they are going to be letting people board the ship. Usually it is 1-2 hours before it sets sail.

I agree with someone that answered your question before mine, I have never heard of a ship leaving at 7:00am. Are you sure that isn't the time that you can get there for boarding and the ship will set sail at 10:00 or so? Just go onto the website for the cruise line that you are taking and make 100% sure about things.
