What to do on a cruise that you have already been on?

I dont fly and I love cruises but have been to almost all the islands of the Caribbean. I still want to cruise and would like to take my husband on a cruise but I have already been to all the places. I feel that it wont be as special as the first time I went. What do you suggest to make it more memorable and fun the second time around.. btw. its even on the same ship. lol. Thank you.

You know for me it feels totally different. I don't know when the last time you went was but the ship may have been completely renovated since then. It's probably a different crew. For me going someplace with my husband that I have already been before is completely new and different. It's kinda like taking your child to Disney--you see it through new eyes and it's like seeing it for the first time.

I've always had other things I wanted to do there. I've been to Cozumel several times and would still love to go back. I feel like I've barely seen the place. I've been to Belize twice and the first time I went to Mayan ruins and the second time cave tubing so it was completely different. I don't even know how many times I've been to St Thomas but I've never been to Megan's Bay and I've never been on the sky ride up to the top of the mountain.

Most of the places I've been have had a couple shore excursions I was interested in and I only got to do one. I went to DR b/c both Costa Rica and DR are known as like land of 300 rivers or something like that. Well the weather canceled that shore excursion so I'd love to go back and do it. Kinda like a lazy river shore excursion or a kayaking one.

I think I'd have to have been to all the islands at least a few times before I'd feel like "been there done that". Plus if you pick up a copy of Lonely Planet it has even more suggestions of off the beaten path ideas including a section on "Been there done that".

If I go back to a port that I already know is super boring I'll stay on ship like the private islands. The spa is much cheaper on days at port plus you can lay by the pool and have your own private waiter since so few people stay on board.

I have been there. I go every year on 4 cruise/tours to Alaska mostly on Princess. There is always new things that you may have missed. Plus, this time you are going with your Husband so won't that make it Special ? Can't you point out the places of interest ? Like a tour guide ? Some like me enjoy cruising, meeting new people, Scenery, Wildlife & services offered both on the ship & land.
Enjoy.

You can always make new memories in familiar places. Try something you have never done before, depending on where you're going. Like parasailing or cave tubing, or swimming with the dolphins. I am sure you will still have fun even if it's the same ship or same place. Cruises are fun no matter what!!!

Here are my suggestion

- Talk: You’re on board a ship for several days with hundreds, if not thousands, of people whom you have never before met. So get to know them. Getting to know your shipmates can be the most enjoyable part of any cruise!

- Learn: Learning is a lifelong experience, and there’s no reason to take a break from it on your cruise! Many cruise lines offer on-board talks and lectures on a huge range of topics from resident experts who are available for a drink and a chat afterward.

- Play: Tennis, bowling, pool, shuffleboard, climbing – yes, there are a huge range of sports and games you can play aboard ship. For most of them you can hire the appropriate equipment on board. Some ships are even equipped with golf driving facilities

Well, the whole point of a Cruise is to kick back and relax – enjoy yourself, have fun, meet new people, enjoy great food, drink and entertainment. In short, the number one tip is: have fun!

the ships are continuously updating there shows so i suggest hitting up the comedy and vegas style shows. As far as the island go there are all kinds of excursions t odo. Try something new out with your hubby and have a new experience together. Even if you just hang out at the beach enjoy the atmosphere your on vcacation!

I did the same cruise twice this year and for the second time around we got a suite instead of just a balcony. It was amazing.
