Go to your cruise line website and have a look at the FAQ's. There is a lot of information about your cruise or sign up to cruisecritic.com (it's free) and read reviews and comments from people who have sailed on the ship.

I do not know about any web sites but, I have been on over 20 cruises and the main thing is common sense. If you would not do something at home do not do it on a ship. Most people on the cruise are there for the same reason as you. To enjoy the cruise, food, sites etc. Some will be first time cruisers & some will have been on many. Although there are several shops on the ships for souvenirs you will find you can buy the same item at ports of call for less. Most lines will charge $10.00 aday for tips but, if you find that you receive extra service it would not hurt to tip that person extra. As for excursions you can purschase them on the ship or at ports of call just be sure you are back aboard the ship at time of departure as they have a schedule to keep & will leave even if everyone is not on board. You will find that you will meet people from all over and 99% are very friendly.
For your money a cruise is the best way to go. Once on the ship your room is cleaned twice aday, great selection of food & every day you visit some place new with great views inbetween ports of call.
ENJOY.

Expect lines everywhere, to get on the ship and to get off, to eat, to order a drink etc. Don't expect to do alot of relaxing, you will be up early in the morning to get off the ship to see the country that you are in. Then you will rush back at the end of the day to get back on the ship or it will leave without you. Have a shower and dinner and the day is gone, get up and do it all again in the morning or you miss an entire country. If you are going to compare it to say an all inclusive resort vacation you will be dissapointed, it is not the same at all. Oh and stay away from Carnival, worst vacation we have ever been on.

The largest cruise website is http://www.cruisecritic.com/
They have forums and everything you wanted to know about cruising.

cruisecritic.com is a good site to look at.
but i would also suggest going to a travel agent who specializes in cruising. any questions you might have can be answered by them or the cruiseline.
best wishes.
