You're going to see a wide aray of "outfits" on formal night. It depends on where the people are from as to what they think is formal. I've seen older women in 2 piece floral dress sets, girls in prom dresses, wedding dresses, cocktail dresses, men in khakis with a button up shirt on. I just wear what I would wear to a company cocktail party. You can never go wrong with the standard little black dress. I love the formal nights because I don't normal get to be girly and dressed up so I pull out all the stops. |

For a formal night, you can wear anything from a sundress to a cocktail dress. You can wear a dress with the backs out as well. you will see some people go crazy and dress really fancy, and then you'll see others who don't go all out. You can wear your dress that is similar to a cocktail dress. |

A cocktail dress is fine. And I've seen women with backless dresses, though they all carried a shawl. Whether they did so "just in case" or in case it got cool, I don't know. I've worn cocktail dresses, chiffon type black pants with a satin blouse, as well as a "tuxedo" cut for a woman. Only a small minority of the women wear long gowns. |

I really dont think that that should be a probablem...I am going on a cuise in a week, my dress is strapless and a cocktail dress sorta. But really you will see a wide variety of dresses on formal night...everything from ball gowns to little spring dresses |

A cocktail dress is more than fine. Some people don't even dress nice. you are going to see everything from shorts to jeans, to even sparkly evening gowns. So you will be fine with a cocktail dress or a dress with the back out. Have fun! =) |
