The only reason I could imagine that you would need to bring snacks is to take on a shore excursion. I wouldn't bother. You'll never want for food on a cruise ship. |

Forget about taking snacks completely. The only thing you may not find on the ship is cheezeit's or potato chips. The ship has enough food to feed an army and then even more. Bottled water may be the only exception to bring with you. |

I have been on many cruises and regularly take a few snacks with me. The reason is that while the ships all have lots of great foods they rarely have the snacks that I like, mainly nuts. You can sometimes buy a can of nuts in the ship's store but they are expensive and usually not fresh. They will also have candy bars but they are also expensive. I sometimes take my favorite candy bars in mini or bite size.
What you should take depends on what you like to snack on but some of the things that you will not find on ships are:
nuts
potato chips (rarely)
popcorn
cheese sticks
trail mix
dried fruit
Your other option is to wait until you are on the cruise ship and then decide whether you want to look for your favorite snack at the next port stop. That can be expensive also. I prefer to take mine with me in a zip lock bag in my carry-on bag. I also take a 6-pack of 16 oz bottled water AND a 6-pack of 16oz soft drinks for my cabin. |

No need for any snacks! Unless you are addicted to a particular one, and cant make it through the cruise without it. Granted they dont have chips, candy, nuts, etc on board, but there are plenty of healthy snacks all of the time (apples, bananas, ice cream(healthy?), etc). |

I have been on 3 other cruises and my 4th is tomorrow!
Back on the topic...
You should take granola bars, small packs of crackers or cookies like the 100 calorie packs, anything non-perishable. Also nothing you would need to cook like soup or Chef Boyardee. If you have children take juice boxes and the drinks on cruise can be expensive so take some soda. |

The one thing i missed while on a cruise was POTATO CHIPS ! The only chip-like things they serve are nachos during snack time but no real potato chips. You can ofcourse buy them at port but they are not cheap and i think they sell them in one of the shops on board but they were like 4 bucks for one tiny bag ! On royal caribbean the only time you can get a bag of chips (they only serve plain) is when you order a sandwich through room service. You won't need to bring any sweets, there are plenty on board ! I also got sick of the fruit punch they served ! I guess if you purchase a soda card you can just keep drinking soda but at some point i just go sick of soda and fruit punch lol. I don't know but it might be a good idea to bring some crystal light packets with you or even kool aide, just for a change. If you want the fruity non-alcoholic drinks you have to purchase them at the bar and i think they are like 3 bucks a glass. |

Only bring food aboard if you are diabetic and have special needs. You will have more food than you know what to do with on the cruise. If you drink a lot of soda you might want to bring some aboard but make sure you take it out of your fridge (if you have one in your cabin) the night before you return home as they lock them the last night of the cruise and you will lose anything you put in there. |
