We just went on our first cruise to the Bahamas, and it didn't matter where you were, on the elavators, in a buffet line, a dining room or on an excursion, or a tender boat, people are there wanting to meet you for the same reasons.. You take our picture, we'll take yours..We even had someone get us a tender ticket just because we let them use our lighter to light there cigarette, which saved us having to go thru the line... I have to agree that cuise/critic.com is absolutely a great time and a great way to meet people...Sign up and have a ball with that..Start your own thread ( question ) and you'll meet a lot of people going on your same ship;...Good luck and have a great time...Don't drink too much, cuz you'll really want to remember the whole ride...

some cruise line have what is called a "meet and greet"
where if you were talking to other taking the same cruise as you on line you can register and the cruise line will set up a somewhat party for you to all meet in person

go to breakfast and lunch in the dining room . you get different table mates every time, but on a cruise people are more open and just say hi and go from there. for some reason people seem to let there guard down and are more open. I have had some real interesting conversations and met some real interesting people on a cruise. every walk of life and defiantly people that i would never come across in my own life path .. hope you meet someone out of your normal life style have fun

Just because your going on a vacation does not mean that you shouldn't be cautious. Even when cruising you have to be careful who you associate with on ships. Meet different people when you are not alone.

THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES TO MEET PEOPLE ON A CRUISE. FOR ONE YOU HAVE THE WELCOME ABOARD PARTY WHEN THE SHIP IS LEAVING THE PORT AFTER THAT YOU HAVE THE DINNER WHERE MOST LIKELY YOU WILL BE SITTING WITH OUT PEOPLE. ALSO IF YOU TAKE A TOUR YOU WILL BE GOING ON IT WITH OTHER PEOPLE. THE CAPTAINS COCKTAIL PARTY IS ANOTHER PLACE WHERE YOU WILL BE MEETING PEOPLE. AND OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS ATTEND ONE OF THOSE GET TOGETHER WHERE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME INTEREST MEET.

I HAVE BEEN ON MANY CRUISES AND AHVE ALWAYS MET PEOPLE

You'll have your tablemates at dinner. If there's "free-style" type dining, you can sit with different people every night if you want. Go to the different activities, especially things like trivia and games, karaoke, etc. You'll meet people on your shore excursions. Just generally be open to chatting with people wherever you go - by the pool, in the buffet line, etc, etc. It's very easy to meet people; generally, everyone is very friendly.

And if you want "quiet time", you can find that, too.

Try connecting with people booked on your cruise at CruiseCritic.com. They have roll calls where people who have booked the cruise you are on can post so you have an opportunity to meet before you board.
