For a first cruise, I'd suggest a 3-5 night Caribbean cruise with Royal Caribbean. A lot of the ships they use in the caribbean are the older ships, but they are still plenty nice (talking 10 years old).
Pick a destination that includes CocoCay. It's a private island owned by Royal Caribbean. They serve an aweseom buffet on the beach for lunch and it's a great place for water excursions (snorkeling is great here!).
Great events on the ships to keep you going 24/7 if you want to. I went on Majesty of the Seas. It's older but still was a nice cruise for my first. ENJOY your vacation...you'll be addicted to cruising afterwards I promise :) |

None. Go to an island and stay there.
Have you watched Montel! They are not responsible if you fall of, get left behind, get lost, or pushed overboard, or raped - And it happens a lot. Not to mention the diseases that can easily spread. |

I would recommend a short 3-5 day Carnival or RCCL cruise. It would be the best for a first time cruiser. If you went on a longer, say 5-7 day cruise, you might get sick of it after a while. I def. do not recommend going on some 14 day cruise or anything like that. |

Here's where a travel agent will really help you out. They can show you the different ships and help you decide what best fits what you want. Frankly, cruising has so many ways of having fun, without knowing how old you are or what your interests are, I can't give you the best answer as a first time cruiser.

Royal Caribbean is great! Rhapsody of the Seas is an excellent ship, but I haven't heard anything bad about any of their other ships. |
