When is the best time to purchase a cruise? |
I'm in a group of 6 that wants to take a 7 day cruise on the Carnival Glory to the Eastern Carribean in June. I know that prices generally fluctuate and then even drop significantly at the last minute if there is still space. My group would like to get our rooms near eachother, if possible.
Has anyone spent time monitoring the price fluctuations in past summers? Do the prices take a nice dip at some point? |

The best prices for popular cruises are usually right at release time (18-24 months out) and close to sail. Close to sail however, you're stuck with what is left on the ship. If a cruise isn't selling well, you can find good deals somewhere in between. If you know you want a specific sailing and you're wanting to to get cabins together, then I wouldn't wait to book. Saving a few dollars isn't worth risking being unhappy with your sail date or cabin placement. |

I've been on 2 cruises so far. I have another one coming up in February. We purchased those a couple of months ago. It really depends on where you want to go and what the weather is like at that time. Prices to dip and a travel agency can give you some good tips as most of them have been on LOTS of cruises and trips. |

Prices increase from the end of June til the end of August. The cruise lines know that families are off and can enjoy vacation. All schools and a lot of summer vacation is taken at that time. If you can I would wait until September or October-BEST PRICES |

That is a great cruise you picked. You will have a great time. As for the best time, I would say now, since you have specific cabin requirements. Booking cabins near each other gets diffcult the closer you get to cruise time. Also, after booking, monitor the prices for drops and call the cruise line, or your travel agent. Sometimes they will honor the price drop and you can get it for less! |

Purchase as far in advance as possible. You can do that online if you want, all of the information is right there online and you can even pick your cabin from thos eavilable. The prices of crises goes up the closer you get to your cruise date. |
