When you go a cruise, does the cruise price include airfare to the port you are leaving from?

May be a dumb question, but i've never gone on one before

not unless it's included in the package you bought. Usually it doesn't

You can get one including airfare, but I usually find it more convenient to buy my airfare separately.

You will also need transport from the airport to the port, so be sure to plan on that.

Find out when boarding begins on the cruise and get there as close to that time as you can. As the day gets later, the lines get thicker. Once you are on board, you can hit the buffet and get a drink and relax.

Have fun!!!!

You can add airfare to your package, but it is usally cheaper to find your own air and there are a ton of taxis outside the airport to give you a ride to the ship. If you have cruise questions, check out www. cruisecritic.com. They have every cruiseline you can think of and you can ask a ton of cruise related questions and get answers from people who actually cruise often.

That totally depends on the package that you purchased. When I went on the Alaskan Cruise i booked the flight to Vancover and stayed over at a B&B before the cruise the next day. Now the B&B was not covered in the package but the flight was. So read the fine print and if your still doubtfull then book everything thru a travel agency. Good Luck and have fun.

No, that is extra. Your cruise line will arrange your air flight for you if so desired. The plus to that is, if the flight should be late the ship will wait for you if your flight is booked through their cruise line. You also have to factor in, if you go a day early when you book your own flight, the hotels you stay in our demanding a premium rate because they know they will get it....because thousands of people are coming into that town at the same time to get on the cruise ship. Some people will tell you that its cheaper to book your own flight, versus letting the cruise line do it. But, if you have to pay a couple hundred dollars to stay in a hotel before you board the ship, then its cheaper to let the cruise line take care of it and having the security if something goes wrong they will take care of it.

Air is usually not included in the price that you pay unless specifically stated. What you pay usually includes the cruise rate, port charges and taxes. There are a couple of ways to add air:
1. Check with the cruise line to see what their rate is.
2. Book your own air.
There are certain itineraries where booking with the cruise line ends up being cheaper for you than getting your own air, for example Hawaii.
The advantage of buying air from the cruise line is that if for some reason the flight gets delayed and you miss the embarkation of the ship, the cruise line will typically fly you to the next port. The disadvantage is that they are generally more expensive and you are at their mercy for time of arrival and departure.

Mrsjvb
no, not usually. Since people often fly in from all over the country, to one post, airfare would be different for everyone.

Not a dumb question. Most prices do not include airfare. Cruise lines will have promotions once in a while where the prices include it, but the flyer or promotion would state Includes Airfare or transportation.

I alway buy mine seperately. I fly in a day early in case the airline has any delays. Also the ones you get through the cruiselines often have impossibly short connection times and you can miss them and this increases your chance of lost luggage. Do not believe anyone who tells you that if you book through the cruiseline that the ship will wait for you if your plane is late. They will not hold a ship of 1,000 to 3,000 people for just a couple. That being said cruising is the best. Keep an open mind and you will have a blast.

You can purchase it through the cruise line in addition to your cruise or you can book your own flight.

You can choose to have airfare added in on the cruise price. It makes it easier when planning and they will provide transportation from the airport to the cruise port.

Cruise prices don't include airfare unless you ask for it. The good thing is that it will include transfers from the airport to the ship, so if weather prevents you from getting to ship on time you'll get there anywhere at next port. If you book on your own and your plane is late, you miss the boat.

Not usually, basically everything else is included except for the excursions at all the ports.

Normally airfare is not included.
Unless you see a special that says it is.
