When you go on a cruise is everything all inclusive?

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
I have been on many cruises and here's what is always included. Regardless of which cruise line you select, the things that are included are pretty much the same. The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service)(you do pay to eat in the specialty restaurants), all shows and entertainment, and free use of all facilities on ship. The things that you will have to pay for are:

GRATUITIES: They will amount to about $10 per person in your cabin per day; about $70 each for a 7 day cruise.

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AND SOFT DRINKS: Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided free but you must pay for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages and they will add a 15% gratuity to each drink and soft drink order.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Cruise lines will take plenty of photographs of you all over the ship, in the dining room, and as you exit the ship in ports. These will cost a lot, like $15 to $20 for most.

TOURS/EXCURSIONS: You are not required to book any tours and can get off and on in the ports as much as you want. But the cruise line will offer a lot of tours and these are expensive.

SOUVENIRS: Anything you buy on ship from a gift shop or duty free shop goes on your on board account. Things that you buy on shore you pay cash or credit card for.

CASINO: If you plan to gamble on ship you will need cash for that.

OTHER: most cruise lines have what they call "specialty" restaurants where there is a gratuity/service charge. All other food on board is free and its not really necessary to budget for food; you cannot eat all of the FREE FOOD that will be available.

If you want/need to have your hair done, get a massage or wrap, or any services from the spa, you will have to pay for them. You can use the gym free but the spa stuff cost big bucks.

Ships now have internet cafe and some have WiFi but the there is a fee for internet access and it is very expensive (like about $50 to $60 an hour).

You cabin will likely have a mini-bar with soft drinks and munchies; you have to pay for them (but there is free room service 24/7).

The answer is "it depends."

As a rule, the majority of cruise lines are not all-inclusive.

In the UK, Thomson and Island occasionally will allow you to book an all-inclusive cruise, Island if you book early, and Thomson if you pay an additional charge.

Of the "main-stream" cruise lines (P&O, NCL, RCI etc) they generally are not all-inclusive, but full board. NCL, RCI and Princess will allow large groups to purchase an all-inclusive cruise, but not to individual bookings.

There are six star cruise lines, such as Silversea and Regent that are all-inclusive. They are extremely luxurious, and although the price may seem high, it is refreshing not to have to worry about spending money.. plus everything supplied is extremely high quality.

As a side note, I read this morning that it was cheaper to take the Regent world cruise on an all-inclusive basis, rather than the Cunard world cruise on a full-board basis!

Hello,

To answer your question, alcohol and soft drinks are not included. Any gambling you pay for, and the things bought in the shops onboard also cost money. Some specialty drinks such as milkshakes may cost extra. Sometimes there are cafes where the desserts cost extra. Also, any shore excursions you go on will be extra except in the case of certain luxury cruise lines. On certain lines, you can buy ice cream, but on many of the budget lines there is free 24-hour ice cream.

Hope this was helpful!

Alcohol, soda and excursions are not included. Your food, other drinks and entertainment are included.

IN general it isnt. But it really depend on what cruise line you book with. But for the big seven this is included in your fare:
The cabin you choise.
Most food.
Entertainment.

Not included are:
Tip (even thou theyre can be pre paid)
Some beverages (like drinks, bears, wine)
spa threatment.
Casino play.
Shore excursions.
And more, so todays cruising is going towards none inclusive rather than all inclusive. But it still a good deal for the money, espeacially if you choices things that are included whenever that is possible such as choising lemonade in the buffes instead of bear.

Johan.

No. It depends which cruise line you travel with food is included, but just about all of them charge for water. Nearly all charge for drinks, including soft drinks and coffee or tea from the bar. Some have inclusive tips, others charge each adult passenger about $10 each day. NCL charges for speciality restaurants, tips, maybe one show, also a daily or weekly rate for the spa, plus treatments. Thomsons usually offer some cruises with inclusive drinks which again doesn't include water, and certain beers and spirits.

Wine at mealtimes can be very expensive on most lines for very mediocre bottles. Many cruise ships have rules against taking your own drinks on board to drink in your cabin.

Mostly, but not always. Like that person said, it depends. What is included are cabins and everything in it, most food and drinks, transportation from the airport(if you need it), airfare (if you need it), and most of the activities. What isn't included are gambling, photos provided by the ship members, sodas, alcohol, spa, shore excursions(activities to do on a port of call), and specialty restaurants (finer restaurants in a cruise that have quite a better quality of dining than some of the others, but the main/formal dining rooms don't count). Also, you have to pay fuel surcharge to pay for the used fuel, and some tips will be added onto your tab, depending on the service you get or request. Oh, not to mention, I think the shops need money, too.
