"The best thing to do is book the cruise you are interested in, keep an eye in the price, if price fallls, contact whomever you booked it with & let them know you want the lower price :)
Very easy :)"
Not true with all cruise lines. If you try to change the fare after you make the final payment ( about 60 days before cruise) most cruise lines will charge you a "penalty" fee then you can rebook your cruise. The cancellation fee will make the fare more than the new fare in most cases.
Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are the only ones that will reduce the fare if you call them. Princess's policy is to charge you a penalty first. Carnival does not charge a penalty, but in most cases they offer an upgrade in place of a credit.
Each cruise line is different. Ask before you book.
Cruise lines have learned from the airlines that it is best to fill most of the cabins early so you may get the best prices early. Because of the stricter Immigration rules it is almost impossible to book anything less than 3 or 4 days before departure.

You go to like yahoo travel or overstock.com and jsut search and go to all the major cruise lines personal sites and you can find great deals and if you can leave with like a months notice and dont care about a room you can get a great deal but you mihgt end up paying that back on airfare but it just depends they have some really great deals. Most prices do not fall dramatically, unless there has been a disaster ( hurricanes )
If your schedule is flexible, book last mintue... when you see a price that fits your budget.. BOOK IT :)

It depends on where you live. We live in Miami, and our BJ's offers great rates on specific cruises that aren't full. I'm talking cheap! It might take a little more detective work on your part if you don't live in a port city, but they are out there. Good luck! |

2 ways, if you can travel last minute, check any cruise line just a few weeks before you want to go. They will have the rooms that are left over for a low price.
or
sometimes if you book far in advance you get a very good price. |

That's where I always find some great cruise deals.
Book a cabin with windows on the bottom deck (cheapest) and try to find a room in the middle of the ship so if there's rocking, the middle of the ship rocks the least.
About two weeks before you set sail, call the cruise company directly and ask if there are any "free" upgrades. If there are, you'll be put in a cabin on a higher floor, if you want it.
Try looking for cruises that set sail out of San Juan so you don't have that many days at sea. You can always do ship activities at night while your traveling to the next port.
Have fun...cruises are awesome! Carnival usually has the lowest cost too...I think it's because they have a lot of twenty somethings and there's a lot of fun on ship too. |
