Where is the best place to be on a cruise ship to avoid sea sickness?

The ship is calmest amid ship (middle). But no matter where you are you can and will feel the ship moving expecially at full crusing speed and evern more in stormy seas. They do have stablilizers, but they do not eliminate the motions of the ocean completely so be prepared. If your really susceptable to motion sickness, get the patch.

Mid ship is the best place to be.
I always seem to get a bit "green " the first day.
The ships have great motion sickness pills that work great.Make sure to pick some up.

Have a great time.

The center of the ship is the best place to be to avoid the movement of the seas. Have Fun....

A lot of answerers say midship - this is true because of the pivotal point. If there are really rough seas, take Meclizine. It is the best for motion sickness. I also wear "sea bands' the first day or so. I used to get very sick, but I believe I have adjusted really well in my old age. A lot of people wear the patches for sickness, but I hear they get sick when they get off the ship. Whatever you do, don't watch anything moving in your periferal vision like water, people or curtains, that makes it worse.

Most of the new ships have good stabilizers, so you do not feel the movement of the ship. The lower midship section is probably the best choice. I have been advised that drinking lemon water helps with this.

Unless there are rough seas you more than likely wont feel much at all. After the first day you'll be very used to the movement of the ship. If you do have a problem try going to an area without many windows (the atrium, library, night clubs, etc). I've cruised several times and I've only been seasick once and that was because we were in the middle of a tropical depression. My waitress at dinner recommeneded a green apple and Sprite, she even went as far as sending someone up to the Lido deck for a green apple for me. It worked too!

anywhere it does not really matter, for the most part have ice water with lemon, this will help prevent sea sickness, and when you get on try to stay away from the greasy food the first night. if needed the information desk or the infirmary has Dramamine.
