Which Cruise is best for kids?

We have a 12 and a 15 yr old. My 12 is athletic and loves to swim, and is really adventurous. My 15 is the kind of teen that sits at the computer all day and doesn't want to do anything. Which cruise line would be best? And are the childrens program good?

We have taken our kids on Carnival three times, and they have loved it. There are plenty of activities. They have an arcade, and you can do as much or as little as you want. As for sitting at a computer all day, they do offer Playstation time, but it is not unlimited. We do take one of our laptops along, and the boys have had the option of using it to play games, but they have not taken advantage of that yet. One of their favorite activities is getting the pizza that is open 24/7.

And they did have over 500,000 kids on their ships last year, so they must be doing something right.

Royal Carribbean has a new generation of on-board facilities: waterpark areas, rock climbing walls, ice skating rinks, mini golf, roller blading... Royal Caribbean also has kids programs for many different ages, including teens.

Carnival Cruise Line, at a lower budget, is a crowd-pleaser, hosting some 100,000 kids a year on its "Fun Ships". Karaoke parties, entertainers, lots of arts and crafts; waterslide at the kids' pools; teen makeovers, teen disco... Camp Carnival has morning to night activities for several age groups.

Norwegian Cruise Lines is known for "freestyle cruising", which means that meals can be eaten whenever, and at whatever table, you like. Kids Crew has programs for Junior Sailors (ages 2 to 5), First Mates (ages 6 to 8), Navigators (ages 9 to 12 - Sega and video games, pajama parties, movies, camp-outs), Teens (ages 13 to 17 -pool parties, volleyball and basketball, games, teen disco).

I have taken my kids on Carnival and they have loved it. There are alot of options for things to do, or not do, depending on the child. My daughter, whose 12, always makes a new best friend each crusie. They hang around the pool and participate in some of the Camp Carnival activites My boys (16 and now 19) find kids who share interests, one plays most the time on deck with a group who all have brought thier PSP's, and the older one found a group of 17 year olds(he was 17 then) and they hung out in a little gang almost the entire cruise, except for when in port and dinner time. I have been on RCL but didnt bring the kids so I have no point of reference. I just received a Carnival Magazine and they are adding clubs for the 12-14 year group so that should be a great addition. Hope you all have fun

I would say disney if they were a bit younger, but i think they would find it immature. If i were you, i would go for royal caribbean. i am in my teens, and it was amazing. i found it better than carnival. (i have been on both)
