Which cruise line is the best? |
My family is thinking about taking a cruise next year over the summer. Our biggest thing is deciding the cruise line. So which line is the best. I have heard about Carnival and Royal Caribbean but there are so many. I am 16 and my parents are between 40-46. So your comments are greatly appreciated. |

I have gone on Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and Royal Caribbean is definitely the better cruise line. Their ships are larger and well maintained, the staff are friendlier, the food is excellent, they even have johnny rockets and Ben and Jerry's onboard. Also they have a lot of onboard activities, it's impossible to get bored because they have so many activities going on, some ships even have an ice skating rink and movie theater, which are free for you to use. I loved it so much, my friends and I are already planning another Royal Caribbean Cruise for next year. Carnival is extremely cheap in price, but you get what you pay for. Carnivals ships are dated, the food is horrible and the staff unfriendly and overworked. They lack onboard activities and they charge for the activities they do offer. |

As a parent with teens we use Carnival they are great for a family, the ship has a lot to offer, and for teens there is the O2 club that has a lot to offer, some might be a little lame but my teen found it to be fun too, and for our next cruise will spend more time at the club.
I personally don't cruise in the summer, I live in Florida and we are already close enough to the tropics that I do not want to be closer to the equator than I am in the summer, we go Sept - Dec the temperature is still summer like, the price is lower, and you still get the same vacation.
in the end there is no bad cruise, have fun, they are addicting |

I think that Royal Caribbean would fit more of the family atmosphere that you guys are looking for. Carnival is cheaper but they have more of a gamble, party, drink, and dance the night away, and with RCCL you still get to have fun but its not as wild. RCCL has so much to do you wont want to get off the ship. It's just that fun. They also have so many fantastic destinations that is hard to just choose which one to go on. I think that you would really like all the activities there are on the ship and you will get to meet alot of kids and teens from all over the country.. |

i would personally recommend doing a crossing instead of a cruise. they are so much more fun. you have a lot more time to enjoy the boat and don't have to get up early for shore excursions. My parents and i have done a few crossings with Cunard on the Queen Elizabeth 2 and the Queen Mary 2 and they have been fabulous. we will actually be taking the QM2 back to America from England in a few weeks and i can't wait!
but if you have your heart set on a cruise, i would at least advise not carnival. I've heard good and bad about them but overall, I've heard that they are over crowded and full of screaming kids. I've done a cruise with the Norwegian Cruise Line to Alaska and it was pretty nice. they would be a good cruise line to look into.
hope this helps! |

I always choose Carnival. They are the cheapest, and despite what a lot of people will say, the food and service are great. I have never had a problem with any of their cruises. Some people are a little rambunctious, but they are on vacation after all. |
