Well, i would consider Royal caribbean and carnival to be on 2 different levels. Royal caribbean is a bit pricier and a bit nicer..and carnival is your typical cruise, affordable and generic. BY FAR my favorite is Royal Caribbean, better rooms, better food, better shows, better service and last but not least BETTER SHIPS. they are Crazy. ice skating rinks and surfing machines? you just dont find stuff like that on the carnival boats.

Carnival is like staying at a Holiday Inn, and royal caribbean is like staying at the Marriott or the hilton. If that makes any sense?

I have had awesome experiences on the Royal Caribbean ships, the amenities, entertainment and food just dont compare to other cruise lines. (ive been on 7+ royal cruises)

I really think its just a personal opinion which you like better. i think if you went on a royal caribbean cruises first then a carnival after you would be disappointed. But, also i dont know what your looking for in a cruise? Royal Caribbean is the whole package, i dont mind paying $50 to $100 dollars more. its worth it.

Also, Norwegian boats are nice, but they nickel and dime everything! like when they say freestyle cruising (meaning you pick a different resutraunt every night) there is a cover charge to eat there. so your paying for the cruise PLUS a charge to eat. it was rediculous. Princess cruises also cover charge everything! Royal Caribbean does cover charge on 2 of there elegant resturaunts, but its your choice and they are worth the extra 20 bucks.

good luck and i hope you have a good time, whichever you pick

Carnival is cheaper, but still VERY good, just went on a Caribbean cruise over Christmas... It was amazing.

BEST though that I have been on is Norwegian :)

It depends on what you are looking for in a cruise.....As with most things in life you get what you pay for.......Royal Caribbean is more expensive, but its a much better cruise experience. Carnival is less expensive, but you will have tons of kids and a lower quality of service...The choice is yours!! Good Luck and enjoy!!

Each one has its good points and bad points. Which is best for you is the issue! Why not go read their web sites and talk to your travel agent?

RCCL -- newer ships with good itineraries.
(but you might find better pricing on CCL)
