The best cruise lines for fun and entertainment are Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. These lines cater to a younger more active crowd. Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian offer non-stop activities.
The top of the line would be the three Freedom class ships (Freedom, Liberty and Independence of the Seas - Independence is still under construction and will begin sailing later in 2008) belonging to Royal Caribbean. These ships have regular pools, a mini water park for the kids, an adults only pool, two hot tubs suspended out over the ocean (yes, outside the ship), an ice skating rink, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, an adult disco, a teen disco, a full sized basketball court and a Flowrider (a surfing simulator). I don't recall how many bars and lounges are on the ship. Oh, I forgot the central Royal Promenade (the shopping center) and the casino (I am likely still forgetting something else). |

All the major cruise ships have several bars and lounges that are inside and by the pool. All have some sort of Club that offers dancing and short acts like comedians.
The also all have a full casino. There are a few of the smaller ships that their casinos are smaller as well.
There is live entertainment constantly somewhere on the ship. For the best cost and best overall experience I would recommend Royal Caribbean, then NCL, Princess and then Carnival.
Royal Caribbean is my first choice because of all the extra, different things they offer like an indoor ice skating rink, or their Flow-Rider is really cool where you can actually boogie board or surf on the ship! They have rock walls, basketball, golfing and more.
I went on a three day cruise where I spent all my days in the spa getting pampered and all my nights in the lounges dancing and singing and having fun. For the best rates, clean ships, good food and lots to do my vote is Royal Caribbean. |

Carnival has better night life.....
Of course it depend on the ship and who the entertainers are.

Same as above me, but if you can't afford the higher end cruises, Carnival is just as good. Plenty of activities for children and teens, if that is your concern.
Night life for adults, and shows.
Princess Cruise lines are very nice too.
