I liked Royal Caribbean, and they're reasonably priced. Example: Sept. 24, 7-night western Caribbean out of Galveston, TX on Rhapsody of the Seas, interior room for $459 per person.
Lots of good deals; look around on their website at http://www.rccl.com . |

Here is what I have seen in my experience. Crystal cruise line is going to be the least likely to have kids. However, this is a cruise line that will be much higher in cost than other companies. Princess is also likely to have fewer kids. Holland America also tends to have fewer kids. Also, Oceania, Celebrity, Cunard etc. are also going to have fewer kids. The thing you want to look for is the higher priced cruises, with the fewest onboard activities for kids, the fewest kidss will be on board.
The only problem is that these are more elegant cruise lines, meaning, more money. All of the lines that I have listed are also the most costly lines. So, if you are on a tight budget, these will likely not be the best option. The thing to consider would be going on a cruise during the school year, avoid summer vacation because there will be more kids. During the school year, there will still be kids, just not as many. Also, off-season for the destination you will be going to is also a good time to go, not all of the kids activities are always till going, so fewer kids may be on board. Finally, pick a destination that wouldn't be as popular for famlies, Alaska seems to be one destination that doesn't really appeal to kids, so fewer will be on board.
Carnival and Royal Caribbean are often popular among families. Royal Caribbean because they have so many fun activities and Carnival because it is very budget friendly. Carnival would likely be your best option if you are looking for a younger crowd (not kids), lots of nightlife, drinking, etc. Royal Caribbean is a little better if you don't want all the partying and a pretty low average age group.
Also, Disney Cruise Line is not a bad choice either. I know this is hard to believe, but it is true. Disney has activities for all ages of kids and kids love the activities. Most kids will go in the morning and stay all day, I know I would, so you will not see them very often. You may see kids here and there, passing with a group to go to an activity or waiting for a meet and greet, but over all it is not that bad. There are going to be kids, it's nearly impossible to avoid on some lines, but I know tons of people that go on the Disney cruise with no kids. It is one of my favorite lines and for the price, it is great. You will see the most kids when you are at Dinner, show and they have a character meet and greet. Just try to dine at the later seating and you can avoid more kids that way.
But if you want to stay away from kids and much as you can your best bets are Crystal, Princess, Holland America, Oceania, Celebrity, Cunard. These are all really great lines and some of my favorites.
Hope this helps |

It really does depend what you are looking for and what you consider reasonable. Try talking to a travel agent to help you narrow down your budget, vacation desires, quality level, and amenities. |

jkhcruiser is correct. At this point, the same company owns Princess, Carnival, and Holland America. Each has been marketed to a different group of people. It also depends on your destination. I have taken 4 princess cruises, (benefits of work) I have loved each one. Mexico, Alaska, Caribean, and Trans Panama Canal.
All the cruises out of Florida are known more as party cruises. Not a bad way to go. If you want to party. If you are more interested in seeing things, maybe try a smaller agency. I have always wanted to do a Windjammers. Seems the best of all worlds.
Cruising is a great vacation and a great chance to find out where you would like to travel to for a longer time. Have a great cruise
PS I don't recommend Norwegian because they have terrible environmental records. they were denied Alaska cruises because of environmental infractions. |

Without a doubt, Royal Caribbean International. Royal Caribbean is pretty competetive with Carnival price-wise, but Royal Caribbean's quality is far superior to that of Carnival. Royal Caribbean's cheapest cruise is on the Majesty of the Seas to the Caribbean, but depending on where you live, it may not be the cheapest. Each of Royal Caribbean's ships has its own style and each ship has superb food, decent rooms, a casino, bars, pools, and a rock wall. Of course, each ship has it's own fun thing to do. Some have basketball courts or mini golf while others have ice skating rinks, boxing rings, and water parks. It all depends on what you want, but Royal Caribbean will always be my first choice for a cruise. |

i used to work for carnival cruise line....five years aboard many different ships working in the casino. carnival owns many different lines today.
i've work aboard their holland america line, carnival, princess and p and o line.
every company caters do a different clientelle and age group. depending what you want and how old you are will make a big difference on which line is best for you. i' m 30 and enjoy the carnival line for partying and having fun. if you are looking to travel and see ultra exotic places, you might consider the smaller ships of windstar which are sailing cruise ships and can run ten grand a cruise. if you would like me to answer some detailed questions feel free to contact me. |

It's between Carnival and Royal Caribbean............the first one is more fun and laid back; R.C. is more elegant and pampering. Depends on what you're looking for. |
