Which would be the ideal desert island cake?

Picture the scene: you are on a cruise and the ship hits an iceberg. You think that you've got a place on a lifeboat, but have just enough time to snaffle some cake (a rucksack full).

Would it be battenberg, Jaffa Cakes or something else?

Ahoy there me hearties!
That is indeed quite a perplexing quandry I hope never to find myself faced with! However - I think that out of the above choices - it would have to be the battenburg.
I am much more drawn - as it is indeed a desert island and the stay there may well be quite long - to the Sherry Trifle. I know that it is not stictly a cake - but one must surely argue its merits due to the addition of 'sponge fingers'.....................

I would go for the cheesecake. If there wasn't any of that them probably the German chocolate.

Hmm...I am thinking of ice cream cake to go along with the scene, but there are plenty of delicious items out there, hard to say!

i would personally snap up some scones left over from breakfast and go directly to the ballroom where i would drown myself in scotch at the piano as the water washes in....

but i am a fighter...so, i would down the scotch and struggle for provisions.
when we get to the desert island i can make you dessert out of just about anything we find. no worries! you can have your cake and eat it until help arrives.

mmm...

Soft, crumbly, 5 layer coffee cake with toffee chunks baked in and a caramel drizzel to top it all off (no icing, that's too messy to shove your sack full)

Now I'm hungry
