I have nothing but good to say about the Disney cruise. I've included a link to Cruise Critic for many reviews as well.

It is such a wonderful line. Your price may be a little higher than lines like Carnival or Royal Caribbean, but the price difference is so worth it. I feel Disney truly is a family friendly ship. The others claim they are, but there is so much partying, gambling, smoking, etc. that I would not want to take my kid on there.

The one thing that makes me happiest is the fact that Disney's rooms are non-smoking. I have allergy problems and smoking really makes it bad. If you aren't a smoker it is really nice not to have to stay in a smoking room.

I'm not sure of your sons age, but I have never heard of a kid not liking the kids programs onboard Disney's ships. It is Disney afterall, they make everything a little more magical, especially for the little ones. The activities are fun and the parents can go off on their own, relax and enjoy themselves with peace and quiet and peace of mind. Disney gives you a page in case your son would want to leave or need you. If he is old enough to be in the teens club, they allow them to come and go. But the younger kids have to be checked in and checked out of the club, and the same person has to check them out that checked them in, so you are safe.

The shows are so great, some of my favorite on the sea, and even on land. They will be even more enjoyable to your child because they have the characters he loves.

The food on Disney is really pretty good as well. My only complaint is that the food isn't real hot when served, but I can't really complain because there is a lot of people to serve in a short period of time. They also have rotational dining, there are three main dining rooms and each night you are assigned to a different room. Your waiter goes with you, which makes the experience a little more personal. After the first or second night they know how you like your meats prepared, what you drink, etc. it is just a little special touch. Breakfast and lunch do not have a specified time and you can go where you like, but your waiters will more than likely not be waiting on you.

The staff is amazing, they cater to your every need. There are a lot of activities onboard for both children and adults and activities that you can do together or on your own. Some have to do with Disney, others are just your basic cruise classes.

A lot of people think that Disney is mostly for kids, but that really isn't the case. They have areas specifically for adults and also activities that are for adults only, so you are able to go places where the kids aren't. Plus, the kids enjoy the kids programs so much, that most of the time you don't see many kids around. The only time it can be bad is during character meet and greets, but they move the lines pretty quickly. The only problem is if you need to get through the area where they are signing autographs and everything.

Everything about the Disney cruise is great. I like Disney, but I am not a huge fan and I don't have any kids, but I still cruise with Disney all the time. You get the feeling of a luxury ship, but a much lower cost. Also, there is a lot of little extras included with Disney that add to the value, one of the biggest, especially since it is a family ship, soda is included. Not something you see to often.

I really can say only great things about Disney. I have never once had a bad experience, it is wonderful.

It depends upon the age of your son.

We took our daughters on the Disney cruise at ages 5 and 7 and it was perfect to introduce our girls to cruising.

They loved the Oceaneers Club and meeting all of the Disney characters.

However, older kids don't get into the Disney thing much.

Disney is masterful at customer service.

The staff is dedicated to giving the children a wonderful cruise experience.

The rooms were neat and clean.

The Disney cruise is not an adult cruise that accommodates children -- it is a children's cruise that accommodates adults.

A Disney Cruise is great, only if you love kids though. The ships are beautiful and the kids programs are also incredible. I would definitely recommend it if you want a family vacation.

It was WONDERFUL!
You can choose your own activities and make the Cruise as "Disney" as you want it to be.
The kids clubs and teen clubs are so much fun. They give the parents a pager so they can call you if your child needs you for anything, so you get some freedom, they are well supervised, doing fun stuff and the kids love it!
The food was great! I have wheat allergies and my table staff checked EVERY item for wheat. One night, they had to go out of their way to get me a wheat free dessert, but they did. The chef made me special meals that were delicious and wheat free.
The staff made everything so much fun.

I guess the biggest compliment I can give them is what I told them at the end of my cruise. I had been diagnosed with cancer 3 months before this. It was early stage and they got it all, but it was something I was still coming to grips with and consumed my heart and mind with worry. At the end, I realized I had so much fun that I had not thought about my cancer the entire trip.

We have been on the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. The children's programs, service, entertainment, etc... is wonderful. We have also taken our children on a Carnival cruise. Disney was so much better! I would recommend Disney's West Coast cruise. It is great!
