Will I be able to see the NBA Finals on a cruise ship? |
I'm going on an 8-day cruise June 8 to the Mexican Riviera and I want to know if the ship will get the games? The games are on ABC, so as long as the ship gets network TV, I should be able to see them. But do they get network TV? And would the sports bar get the games? Sports are a huge part of my life, so I don't need to hear about why would I watch TV on a cruise. I care more about the Celtics than I do any cruise, but I can't not go. |

Not only will they be showing the NBA Finals on the TV in your room (you can bet on it - how many unhappy people would there be if they didn't??) there will probably be a viewing party to boot, in the Sports Bar.
Some of the best times I've had on a cruise was watching games in the Sports Bars - there's a party atmosphere and snacks being passed around - it's great fun! Don't worry about being the only sports fan on board - you won't be! |

Of course you will! If your cruise has a sports bar then they will play it. I went on a cruise a couple days ago and I watched the Lakers game at the sports bar (Holland America Line), I also heard that for the Super Bowl they had a huge party. So I am sure what ever cruise you are going on will have similar outcomes. I wouldn't miss the Finals for anything either... I'm a Laker fan though : ). Hope you have fun on your trip! |

I'm a HUGE sports fan. The last cruise I was on I had no problem watching the final rounds of the NCAA tournament in the sports bar. I also know you can watch the superbowl on board cruise ships so I'd imagine the same would be said about the NBA finals. |

I too am taking a cruise to the Mexican Riviera and will be leaving June 9th. I was also worried about missing some of the NBA finals and decided to just ask. I called the hotline for my cruise (Carnival) to ask and was informed that there would be a showing in at least one of the bars. I don't recall which one, but that was enough to satisfy me. Have fun! |

Most likely, they will show the games. I have been on a cruise during the soccer play offs and the super bowl. Both were televised and on Princess, the soccer play offs were on on the hugh outdoor screens as well. very cool. |

Each to their own! I am sure in today's modern technology you'll be able to sort something out, just don't stress too much if the satellite goes out, you can always run up a huge satellite phone bill and call a friend and listen in, or take over ships internet, don't panic its after all only a game, you poor sports mad man you! Bless! |
