Yes you can swim. In fact it is rather nice going to Alaska because the pool is much less crowded then when you cruise elsewhere. Princess has a covered pool as well as a uncovered pool, so the choice is yours. Do bring some warm clothes, a warm hat and some gloves with you as sometimes it can get chilly. You will love Alaska. I'm going this summer for the 2nd time on a cruise. |

well, i dont know where your cutoff line is, but i think temps would be good enough to take a swim...its not going to be that cold
either way, just pack something for the pool just incase. you wont know until that day anyways |

Most cruise ships that go to Alaska will have a covered pool area called a solarium, or some other such name depending upon the cruise line. So the answer to your question is YES. These solarium's will have a pool and a hot tub or two and are completely closed off from the outside temperatures. In fact they are usually very warm.
The ship will also have an outside pool and hot tubs and you can use them also. Normally the pool deck is on a level below the top open deck and so it is shielded from the ocean breeze. But the water may be cold due to the outside air temperature unless it gets really warm, which it can do in Alaska. Your best bet will probably be the indoor pool.
You should take swim wear and also a wrap to wear in the hallways and elevators going to/from the pool areas. |

It really does depend on the ship and the time of year that you go. However, since you are going in June it should be warm enough, depending on how warm you like it to be.
I would bring a wrap with you, something to warm you up on your way back to your room.
Have fun on your cruise. We are going in 3 weeks to Alaska! |
