I have been on 2 cruises and say late teens people having a blast on a cruise, it also epends on where the boat is going.

I did one to the bahamas and to the virgin islands. However I would NOT reccomend letting them go by themselves!

you do not spend any money on board the ship. Instead they give you a ship card and you sign for everything you get. The total bill has to be settled before you can leave the ship.

Because its so easy to just sign for everything, people tend to spend a lot of money without realizing it! Also note that when the ship gets into international waters the drinknig age on a cruise is 18 year old. And alchohol charges is not included in any cruise package!

my wife and I have spent an average of a little over 1000.00 on the ship alone the 2 times we went. that doesnt include the money spent when we were on the islands....

I would look into all inclusive resorts instead. (if they enjoy the beach)

check with liberty travel, my wife and I are going to a beautifu all inclusive in the domincan republic for 7 days and the cost is right on par with what a inside state room would cost on a cruise

hope this helps!

Absolutely. Most cruise lines have teen clubs and activities geared towards the younger crowd. There are non-stop activities going on, a lot of dancing, music, etc.

Carnival and Royal Caribbean would be the two more "teen" friendly. Not to mention there are tons of other people their own age that they will be able to hang out with.

They'll have a blast.

Yes. I have seen lots kids that age on all the cruises I have been on. They usually just meet some new friends and hook up with them every day and just lounge by the pool or go out about on the excursions alone and just enjoy the vacation. I would set rules about what they are and arent aloud to do though. Because it could be easy for them to get ahold of alcohol, and if thats not something you want then make sure you tell them that. Have fun and Bon Voyage.

Yes, they can have a blast. Even if there is no liquor involved. I don't understand why the other answers all reference liquor.

During the day there is the pool, and the activities they have around the pool area. There is the different port of calls with all types of land or sea activities.

At night there are shows and lots of other young adults to hang out with. There is always a disco.

And of course there is always the wide variety of food 24/7.

Who doesn't love a cruise? EVERYONE loves cruises! There is SO much to do from swimming and laying out to partying and dancing. Most cruises have talent shows and game shows that anyone can participate in. They have new activities EVERY SINGLE DAY! This would be the perfect thing to do for them, I know I would like it! I hope I helped and good luck with what ever you decide to do! God bless you!

there is so much to do on cruises, yes they will have fun. Some cruise lines will allow 18 year olds to drink if you are in international waters or in waters of a country that allows it. Same with gambling. If you are 18+ you are also allowed in some or all of the dance clubs even if you are not allowed to drink on that particular cruise line. Plus there is the pools, and the games, and usually something like rock climbing or another activity, there are shows, and plenty to do in port. Trust me they will have fun, a bunch of us just went (my husband and I are 24) we went with a group including my little brother in law, and his friend who are both 18. They had a blast.

Every cruise I have been on, I saw lots of people that age, and they all were having a great time. It is all up to them. On Carnival, they give you all the options. You just have to use them.

on the cruise we went on last year, my, at the time,19 year old sister did not have fun. she slept literally the entire trip. the only exceptions are when we were in port (puerto vallarta, mazatlan, cabo), and she was boozing it up big time on the beaches. most people that age would have a lot of fun though, they can go to the adult night clubs and drink in the caribbean or mexico. it just depends on what they like to do. my sister said she likes the caribbean a lot better and says she only slept the whole time because we were in mexico. only they can determine if they will have fun or not though.

iggle_piggle
im 18 and i think id love it... as long as i had a fair amount of money to last the duration and access to the bar

AlexAtlanta
On Carnival Cruise lines? Yes!

On Norwegian Cruise lines? NO!!!!

The age of the other passengers will dictate if they have fun. Carnival is quite a bit younger as the crowd goes than some of the more sedate lines.
