Will you get denied boarding on a Carnival Cruise if your drivers license is expired....? |
My moms license is expired and she no longer drives. She still has her license with her photo as well as her birth certificate, social security card, and she has a certified stamped form showing that she applied for a state ID. However, the ID may not come in on time......will she get denied boarding even if she can prove who she is and has these forms for Homeland Security? |

Find out from the cruise line. They are the only ones who can answer the question on what is an acceptable ID. If what your mother has as ID is not acceptable they will tell you what will be.
Write or E-mail the cruise line customer care department and take a copy of the reply with you as proof. |

That could pose a problem. Check with the state and tell them your situation, in my state of Connecticut it only takes minutes to apply and get a state ID. If that doesn't work, than contact the cruise line, they are very helpful, and they will let you know if it is allowable. Next, if it isn't allowable, they will offer help in how to get your mother on-board. |

Good Question!!! If she has her passport with her. they won't even ask for her DL. If not check with the cruise line and let them know what the problem is. Better safe than sorry. With all this Homeland Security crap you never know a minor problem like that may get you a denied boarding. |

the safest bet would be to get a passport. that will make any travel outside the US much easier. |

You must have a VALID, Photo I.D. to go along with the other documents unless you have a current (as stated earlier) passport. Try going down to the motor vehicle office and see if you can get a non-drivers license for her. This is a valid photo I.D. and can be used with the birth certificate. |
