Windjammer cruise lines.....are they "completely" gone? Can they be contacted??? Way to get payment returned? |
My husband and son were to go on a Windjammer Cruise this past December/07. I can't contact them, their site is up but actually not active, all phone numbers are not active.
Any good suggestions on getting our money back? I'm sure we aren't the only ones going through this mess! I've kept paperwork, info, some contact info, etc.
Anyone else having this same problem with "Windjammer"?? |

Everyone who has had anything to do with Windjammer Cruises from early November 2007 when they first started cancelling their cruises are in the same position.

Hopefully, once Windjammer file for bankruptcy and stop taking innocent people's cash, you can be listed as a creditor and get some of your cash back.

those are consumer organizations which could help you in your quest to get your money back.
as far as windjammercruises, theres been much talk on the internet about how they have been having financial troubles and possible bankruptcy.
best is to contact one of these agencies above, to try to help

www.cruisemates.com has a very long well written article on Windjammer. It looks like they are in the process of trying to rip off as many people as they can before they fold the company. I would bet your money is history. |

Try writing the better business bureau, the FTC and your local consumer protection agency. |

Perhaps you should post your question in Law and Ethics to find out if you have any legal action options. I don't know if that is the route you should take, but it wouldn't hurt to find out from someone with experience in this type of thing. |

Hopefully you went thru a travel agent so you can collect insurance. If you did this on your own, you're on your own.
In the future, try buying insurance that covers supplier bankruptcy.
