im in australia and wanting to find employment on a cruise ship. im having trouble starting as i have been to many websites and they require a payment for searching and applying. if anyone can help and point me in the right direction to get started that would be great.

I live in Western Australia and have worked on ships for 8 years. I started by applying directly to about 40 companies for all types of work. The first one that replied, Harding Bros in the UK (www.hardingbros.co.uk) and I worked in the gift shop. It was not really my preferred job but I used it to get onboard. After 5mths I applied directly to the company whose ship I was on (application was backed by the onboard Chief Purser) and now I have the job I want.
I didn't pay any application fees etc. Only thing I paid for but was refunded was my PST course (basic sea survival)

I agree with Nanie, Hardings is very easy to get in.
They are growing very fast as well, so they need managers badly and usually promote from within the company after a contract or so.
Also the interviews are over the phone, after you´ve sent your cv and it was pre-selectec and there are no inicial fees. |

The E book costs money because it is a service to train people on what steps to take in order to work on a cruise ship.
He put the E book together, so he is to be compensated for it and if you are serious, you will pay for it. |

Are you going directly to the website of the cruise line? If not, I suggest you call the toll free number of each cruise line you would like to work for and ask how to apply. Probably online and they will give you the site. |
