I have been on the Disney Cruise - and it is fantastic. I went with my husband and my sister - all of us adults. They have adult's only rooms, pools and restaurants. If you don't want to be around the kids you don't have to be - they never once bothered us.
Disney is first class and lots of fun. Go and enjoy!! |

disneycruise.disney.go.com
they have lots of entertainment, good food, adults only pool, wonderful beach for adults only(when you get to castaway cay), spa and massages, activities such as enrichment courses(like wine education and tours of some of the areas of the ship).
see disney cruises for more info. |

You will have much more fun if you went on a Royal Carribean Voyager Class or Freedom Class ship. The reasons why are too numerous to mention. |

As long as you dont mind ALOT of kids being around. I think its more of a family trip rather than a couple. Its a beautiful ship, but check out all the options first before deciding. Especially if your in iraq and coming back to be with your wife, you might want something a little more personal and romantic. |

Disney Cruise is just the cream of the top in the CRUISE industry. They set the standards for every other cruise line. They have decks, pools & restaurants on the ship specifically designed for ADULTS ONLY!
Be sure to request a dining night at the exclusive PALO restaurant. There is an additional fee, but it is worth it! And it's adults only.
Also, Disney owns a private island in which the ship pulls right up to, and there is an adult only beach as well.
The service is impecable! The dining is extraordinary! And the details are in every corner.
We booked ours on www.thetravelvision.com! We loved the website and the prices! |

Cruises are hella fun, and you should definitely try it at least once.
If you don't mind kids, the Disney line is probably okay. From the infomercial I saw, the kids go the club all day and get to play all sorts of terrific games, and the adults get to go off and drink and gamble and do whatever they want, and then everyone meets up for meals, and everyone's happy.
Every cruise line, including Disney, offers drinking, gambling, a sports bar or pub, a pool, hot tub, gym, fabulous day spa, nightclubs, cheesy Broadway-style shows, and fantastic meals. So there is plenty to do. Check out their website for more details. |

It would be great!
But only if you dont mind a lot of kids around. They do a pretty good job of keeping the kids occupied though, and there's an adult-only restaurant on board, as well as an adult-only beach on the private island.
Have fun whatever you decide on! :-) |

yes, I watch the reviews on those travel channels and they have so much for adults to do. The ship even docks on a private island. The ship and the island both have adult only sections. |

A Disney cruise is fine if you enjoy being around kids or if you are a big fan of Disney. Otherwise I would suggest Carnival, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian. All are less expensive and all offer a quality cruise experience. There will still be kids, but there will be less children than on a Disney cruise.
What is the purpose of the cruise? If the goals do not require being on a Disney ship, why pay 30% extra just for the Disney name on the side of the ship? |

♥ Kinda cute ♥

I have been on a lot of cruises and I do not think that Disney is what you or she will want, unless you have kids who are under about age 7 or 8 and would like to be around the Disney characters.
If its just you and your wife look at a different cruise line. Disney has just two ships and do a very limited number of cruises primarily to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. They do not even go to Bermuda or the Southern Caribbean where Aruba, Antigua, ST Lucia and other islands would be an option. Other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean or Celebrity you could go to New England and Canada, or the Mediterranean, Europe, or the Panama Canal.
I suggest cruise lines like Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess, Celebrity and Carnival instead of disney. All of these lines have great ships comparable with Disney's. Most have new ships just launched in the past couple years. And you will probably get a better price on these other lines.
Regardless, do book early, and that means that right now is not too soon. The cruise lines all give early booking discounts. Also shop around on the cruise line web sites for the specials and don't pick a firm date in advance but go when the price is best. Cruise prices can vary by hundreds depending on the week you select.
Here's what to expect and what you will be able to do on the ship.
When you arrive at the port to check in you (each passenger) will have an on board charge account set up and receive a key card which will serve as your room key, charge card for anything you buy on ship (i.e.,drinks, souvenir, tours, photos, etc) and its also your pass to get on and off ship in each port. When you first board the ship the security personnel will have you insert your key card into a scanner and then will take a photo of you that is included in the magnetic strip on the card. Each time you get off ship you will need this key card and many times also a photo ID (passport or driver's license). This card allows them to keep an accurate track of all passengers entering and/or leaving the ship. The first order of business when everyone is on ship is a mandatory safety drill. Everyone must go to their cabin and get the life vest provided and then go to the designated place on the ship; the place is marked on your cabin door, and on your life vest.
Each day of your cruise you will receive in your cabin a "newsletter" listing the time, place and particulars of everything happening for you on ship. There are generally activities like demonstrations of ice carvings, napkin folding and towel folding, and cooking demonstrations. There will be organized games and other activities around the pools. In the evenings there are generally shows, one show for those with an early dinner seating and another (same show) for those who eat late. There is always food available. Usually there is a place in ship where you can go get something. Or, you can always just pick up the phone in your cabin and order from the room service menu (food is free 24/7). If you want, you can order breakfast room service.
All ships, except Disney, have a casino with slots and table games. Ships have movie theaters, generally small but nice, and you can also see movies in your room. Princess has what they call movies under the stars on some of its ships and they will have movies on a huge screen on the top deck of the ship at night. They have ATM’s and a purser’s desk where you can cash a check or exchange currency if you need to. There is a tour and activities desk so you can schedule land tours and activities.
Ships have free morning exercise programs, stretching and walking, etc, and on some you can pay for other things like Spinning. All cruise ships have gyms so you can go workout, usually any time from 6:00 AM to late at night. There is usually a walking/running track on one of the decks also. Some ships leave the gym open all night. They call the gyms Spa because they do promote getting pampered with things like wraps and massages with aroma therapy. They will also generally have a beauty salon to do hair and nails.
There are always pools. Some ships have more than one and the newer ships generally have an indoor pool as well as outdoor ones and all of these have hot tubs. There is generally a basketbal/volleyball court on the top deck, a place for scuffle board, and a mini-golf course, some ships have ice skating or roller blade tracks.. The newer Royal Caribbean ships have a rock climbing wall and the newest one has a pool for water surfing called the Flow Rider.
There are places on ships to play cards and board games, and the cards and games are provided. If you want to just sit and read, there’s a library where you can bring your books or select one from the shelf. Ships have internet cafes and some offer WIFI if you bring your prefer to use your computer in your cabin (some ships offer notebooks for rent).
There are cocktail lounges that feature a variety of music. Some have a piano bar with jazz. There is usually a disco that starts after 10:00 PM each night and last until everyone leave. On certain days ships will have special activities like a chocolate lovers buffet, or a midnight deck party .
You can stay busy all day and evening. Then the ships will offer tours, which you have to pay for, from the ship doing a variety of things depending upon where your cruise goes. Some cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas have a private island where the ship stops for the day for a beach party. |

Disney or otherwise, you cant go wrong with a cruise. It is better if you do like kids tho on Disney as you will be the odd ones by not having any. I know a couple of people that have no children but prefer Disney for the shows etc... As previously mentioned there are areas on the ship that will be adult only. A few notes about Disney cruises can be found at the site I listed as well. Just search the site for disney. |
