2 week holiday destinations within a 5 hour flight from England?

We're looking to go away for 2 weeks next year but without going on a long haul flight. Preferably somewhere picturesque, relaxing, but with the option of day trips/things to do in case we fancy a change! We've been to Tunisia and Turkey so we're looking for somewhere different.

Try Madeira three and a half hours flight Warm all year round fruit and flowers in abundance. Levada walks for the energetic, trips into the mountains for the less energetic English widely spoken plus good shops in Funchal (capital)
The Madeiran Portuguese are a friendly, polite and helpful people.

2 Hour Flight: Spain- Costa Del Sol, Benalmadena/ Fungerola (Not Sure How Its Spelt) Going To This Place You Can Go On Day Trips To Different Places Eg. Gibraltar Or Morocco.
Gibraltar Is Lovely And Had Alot Of History Behind It Which You Can Either Find Out About Or Not.. You Can Go Up The Rock And See The Monkeys, Go Inside The Caves And More.. Or Go Shopping, To Go The Gardens & More.
I Love Gibraltar! It's In Spain Yet It Belongs To The UK!
Morocco Is A Good Day Trip You Go On The Boat Which Takes About 35 Mins And Spend The Day There. It's Very Eye Opening And A Good Experience.

The Canaries: Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Feurtventura.
I've Only Been To Gran Canaria But You Can Go To The Other Islands! Gran Canaria Is Lovely And There Is Lots To Do There, 4.30 Hour Flight From London.

Other Places;
Pourtugal
Sardinia
Crete
Cyprus
Maderia
Amsterdam
Ireland
France

I'd go for Crete as well, I'm biased because I have a fondness for Greece.

You could also give Jordan a go, lots to see and do, everyone speaks english. You can visit Wadi Rum, the Dead sea and Petra. Amman is about 4 and a half hours flying from London.

Kreta or one of the other Greek islands. I went to Kreta myself, it is very beautiful and you can make day trips to visit Knossos, to walk through the Samaria Gorge, ..., but you can also visit the small villages or go to the beach.
Malta seems to be very pretty as well. I didn't go myself, but my sister told me it was a beautiful place.
Of course, Spain, Portugal and Italy are popular places as well.

You could try either Cyprus or the Greek Islands, they are both lovely but Cyprus can be very hot but it is easy to get around. My favourite Island is Santorini and quite small, it has loads to see and you can get to most places by bus. Both Cyprus and the Greek Islands have plenty of daily boat trips.
Have a great time.
