I dont understand. I dont drink water after ı finish mine because ı like the taste that stays .

It's my potion of life. The water is to rid the mouth of other tastes, like the taste of the meal you had, to better appreciate the superb flavor of the coffee.

I drink half of water to taste the coffee better. After coffee , I drink my water to start an other coffee :)

You drink it before the coffee to clean your mouth. To have the taste of coffee better. Because normally we drink it after meals.

I always thought water was to clean up your tongue from bitter taste and coffee particles (telve).

But I've just learned that water should have been drunk before the coffee. Water cleans up your tongue and removes any other aromas, so prepare you to enjoy your Turkish coffee better.

l'm turkish and l think water is put with coffee to clean ur mouth before u drink ur coffee,thus it makes ur coffee so delicious...but l am not sure...

Well because people get thirsty after drinking it because of "telve" below. At least it is like that for me.

Turkish coffee is a strong drink and it leaves particules in your mouth after you drink it so a glass of cold water is needed to clean that particules.That's the purpose.

Most people got it correct. The purpose of drinking a little water before your coffee is to cleanse the mouth of any other tastes (lunch, dinner etc.) so that one can get the real taste of the coffee. And we usually finish our glass of water after the coffee to wash down those coffee particles.

water is for locum! it is soo sweet, you need cold water after you eat it!

at least this is the way why we (Greeks) give cold water ;))))

To Elim m - of course it does-locum and many kind of bisquits too, try it, it gives a wonderfull taste

cos coffee is very strong and has bits the purpose of the water is to smooth it...well at least I have it for that reason...
