Depends how close you mean! I went to Cyprus one year and returned on Bonfire night. It was very warm 32dgrs somedays. We had a little rain one day. Its a bit pot luck anywhere nearer. The Cannaries are hot most of the time.

try gran canaria it will be lovely and is such a pretty island ,or why not try the costa blanca it to will still be nice for your dates and added bonus its only about 2hrs away, where ever you decide i hope you have a good time ,lucky you .....

Just like benjoe said. Canaries are lovely at that time of year.
If you want a lot of life try Tenerife. A little less going on try Lanzarote but if you want chilled out best head for Fuerteventura (my home). It is also best for high octane water sports.
