Amsterdam or Barcelona? Which is more romantic and ideal for a marriage proposal? |
Additional Details
I have visited Amsterdam and once you get past the drug culture and Red Light District, the city is quite beautiful. The numerous canals, parks and unique architecture impressed me.
I have not visited Barcelona as yet, but am travelling there for the Easter Holidays. Everyone who mentions Barcelona has a sparkle in their eye. No one has a bad word to say about this cosmopolitan city.
I spent a week in Paris with my partner and as beautiful a place as it is, I left Paris a little disappointed, I expected more. Expectation is a dangerous thing.

I think both cities would be suitable although if I had to choose I would probably go with Barcelona. Two specific places I would consider are:
- Park Guell. It includes one of Gaudi's old houses and the view from the park is one overlooking the whole of central Barcelona and right there could be a nice place with good weather. to propose.
- At the top of Sagrada Familia, the Gaudi church in the area of Sagrada Familia could also be perfect in my view. |

Both are very nice. AMsterdam has really amazing canals, I would go there since its so much more of a complete experience than other cities, but barcelona is really amazing too. |

If you have to choose between these two I'd go with Barcelona, Amsterdam would be better for your bachelor party ;)
I think that you could also consider Paris, Venice, Vienna or Krakow. Very beautiful and very romantic places.
