Greece: Invented Democracy, philosophy, world's first tragedies and comedies, many mathematical theorems, Olympic Games.
Ancient Greece is considered the cradle of civilization.

Don't know anything good about ancient Rome, besides that they used to feed lions with slaves in front of thousands of peolpe.

seriously... way to procrastinate. Anyway... both ancient Greece and ancient Rome made hugely significant contributions. Both the Greeks and the Romans were very advanced in the use and application of war tactics and government. During a period of time called the "Dark Ages" the Greeks improved their previous unorganized war tactics by creating a formation called the phalanx. Soldiers were armed with a shield for the left arm and a double sided sword for the right with a pike for thrusting. The soldiers stood in rows where any given man would be protected by the shield held by the man to their left and would protect the man on his right with his shield. The Greeks went through many different types of government. They were one of the first to come up with what Aristotle called an Oligarchi system, in which the common people were ruled by a group of wealthy aristocrats. This eventually trickled down with various revisions into a system which the U.S. uses; a government with one head and various other government bodies to check it.The Greeks were also very philosophical. They were among the first to suppose ideas concerning the mind and body and the connection and works of the two. The Romans in a way began the idea that power lies in numbers. During the time of Emperor Hadrian the Romans had over 30 legions (one legion consisting of about 6 thousand men). The Romans also developed the idea of using Calvary versus the sole use of footmen. Emperor Hadrian also came up with the idea of creating benefits for those who served militarily. In ancient Rome, a man and his family could be spared by conquering Romans and become a Roman citizen by serving in the Roman army for 20 years. The Roman government actually improved upon Greek ideas in some ways. Rather than the use of democracy or Oligarchi, the Romans combined the two, but left room for interpretation. When it was deemed necessary, the Romans would suspend democracy and leave one ruler in charge of the Roman kingdom. Hope this helps! :)

some of the things that the Romans did are Underground Sewer systems(still in use) running water in homes, Julius Ceaser(may have spelt that wrong lol its a weak point) built a bridge in like 3 days just to prove that he could get across the English Channel. they are also like one of the first united states. They were a superpower that allowed immagrants (hope this helps and sorry i did not go into detail)
