hi there.i agree with hotturk. what you have gone tru in Marmaris really ugly and nasty. i have a child as well and i can understand how you must have felt. i am turkish and trust me not all men like this in Turkey. please do not generalize. there is good and bad in every nation .hope you come here again and have nice time. and do not be afraid to tell that nasty men to back off .

Well i have to say that i did not have any problems but i was with my boyfriend.I did witness men tyring to chat up women in bars etc on occasions however it has to be said some British men are the same .

I think its just different cultures and you have to be aware of it and like in any country try and stay as safe as possible .Especially for females .

All in all i enjoyed the holiday .We had a problem in Marmaris with the shopping . Trying to get you into the shops all the time .I found once you gained a tan they left you alone as they know you will have looked in every shop .

I will go back to Turkey though .. enjoyed it

I agree with some of your comments. Men in Turkey are really different for me. Whenever I go to a cafe or bar, they keep on buying drinks and they want to pay my checks even though they were not with me. At first it bothered me, but they do not go too much of it. they understand when you refuse them. but yesterday two guys started to follow me and I was really scared. I told them that I don't want them but they kept on following.
I don't know if you see other women in the world CHEAP, but everybody is not the same. The one who commented first was really rude. What do you think about other women? You can get them easily when you buy a drink for them. Ohhh!!! That is so annoying. Can you think that if you were a Finnish woman and just because you are blonde and you have green eyes, men think that you are very easy to get. How would you feel?

I think its most tourist places in Turkey I am blond and went with my husband and children but still had a Turkish man insist on giving me his telephone number even when my husband was with me. Its very off putting because they are so persistant that and the hard sell from shopkeepers. But after saying all this it is an excellent place or a holiday!

God, no....I always go, 2, 3 times per year..It has happened to me, but in a polite way, just looking..But it is natural..They are mediterranean people, and they have other mentality..In Greece also it happens..They look, especially the foreign girls, but i get surprised, because in Turkey when a girl is with her boyfriend is respected, the rules about the women are very strict, especially the married...Go to Napoli.And you ll see how they look...So, it happens everywhere i think

Men are men and no matter where, of course they would get excited when seeing a beautiful blond girl. This means you have good taste! LOL.
Seriously, my girlfriend and I were in Turkey, Istambul, Izmir, Manisa, Pamukale, Antalya, Alanya, Efes, and of course men stared at us ( my girlfriend is african-american). It did bother her at first, but generally Turkish people are so friendly and hospitable that we understood there was no harm to what they were doing. You probably had a bad experience. It does not mean this would be the same if you went back.

sorry, these are the ignorant people who get into tourism for all the wrong reasons and lack of a better option, and as someone said a lot of foreign women give them plenty of positive reinforcement for their behavior so that think it is acceptable; even desirable!!! Shocking on all sides, people should respect each other, man-woman, foreigner-local, young-old.
I could be wrong but I bet the less expensive beach holiday destinations all over the world are exactly the same. In my opinion you picked the armpit of the Turkish beach, better luck next time. (wait, someone just reminded me about the resort Kusadisi, this is the armpit, well, I guess it is ok to have two armpits, they both can be armpits.)

It's not just in marmaris!. They literally do not leave you alone. I went with a blond friend of mine afew years ago - I have very dark hair so they left me alone but my poor friend could not get any peace! British men are so much more gentlemanly!

mmmm let me see.you are streotypin so i will do the same.. most of the europen girls are very easy and cheap.and in Turkey we do not have women like that. our women have their honour and pride. so turkish men know how easy to get europen women in bed. that should be the reason. also its crime in Turkey to relation with under age. so stop lying.at least we don't have phedophiles in Turkey like you have in your country. i really don't care what yo think . screw you .do not piss me off.also why you worrying about men in ;Turkey ? will you come back here again? you want some too, don't you?
