I have been there and found it fine..however, I would hire a car when I got to Corfu as there are so many lovely places to visit and whilst there is a regular bus service the best way to see all of the island is by car.

Hire a Susuki Jenny jeep..bags of fun and easy to drive and can be taken on rough torrain tracks of which there are plenty in Corfu....... Enjoy

Kavos stinks and is an absolute s***hole, wouldnt go again if you paid me!! Really just for stag and hen nights now id say, might of changed in 2 years but, people i know have gone since and say it is still awful.

hope this helps

I lived in Corfou for 3 years but I went once in Kavos.... sorry I don't realy remember.... It was a little bit far from town and I was only with bike! I think it was only for tourist a desert place not a lot of greek living there...

It's an awful place. Alright if you're one of the 18-30 mob I suppose. My cousin's boy went there last year for 2 weeks and can't remember a thing about his holiday as he was sloshed all the time.

Don't let that put you off the rest of Corfu though. There are many other places to stay at or visit. It is in general a beautiful island.

depends what your going for... we went about 6 years ago and renamed it Chavos.
if you just want a week of beer and clubs and thugs then great, if not then definitely hire a car and tour Corfu... the old town is gorgeous

Intersting place but with lots of loutish people....(tourists)

Red Mick
First time I went it was a quiet, freindly place, now it's 18-30 city. No one around until afternoon, then non stop party/beer/loutish (or is that laddish/ladettish?) behaviour until dawn.

If I had the chance of a free holiday to Kavos, I'd give it away.

If you have chosen to go with 18-30 then it will be exactly what you are looking for - the type of behaviour that makes me ashamed to be English in Greece!

I wish these holidays would be banned! Can you imagine the outcry if a load of drunken/loose young Greeks descended on a small coastal town in UK - disrespecting tha locals causing fights - having sex in the street because they are too drunk to care - girls getting their breasts out .... firstly the Greeks have more respect for themselves and would never stoop so low and secondly the British wouldn't allow it!

It is a beautiful place I do not know what can be wrong with that place as I believe it has lots to offer.
