nighlife is best at paceville if you like discos (many free pubs and also discos, like axis, where you pay a little for a great night)

you must be over 16 to go to the disco (need your id card so the bouncer will let you in)
age limit for alcohol is also 16, same for smoking

if you want to buy alcohol cheap, there's a shop a little outside paceville which sells alcohol cheaper than what you'll buy in the pubs. you're recognise the place by the amount of people in front of it!
another good thing cheap is public transport - a mere 47 euro cents for a bus ride (and a little more for a 2- or a 3 zone ride). buses in malta take you everywhere, so you dont have to hire a taxi everytime.

hope this was helpful and that you manage to read it before going to malta....
enjoy your stay!

The country is predominently Catholic, but don't let that worry you, there are lots of things to do and see there as well as the fantastic historical sights in the towns. Be respectful and polite to the locals, take time to talk to them and they will love you to bits. No language barriers, lots of sun. If you drive, make sure you drive in the sun as all the locals drive in the shade regardless ofwhat side of the road they are on. (I jest not) Oh the car's - Taxi's have special Air Conditioning, they have like holes in the bottom of the chassis so tha the air can come gushing through to keep you cool. (Hey I speak from personal experience here) Don't be put off, it s a fantastic place, like every country it has it's own funnyocities, but thats 99% of it's charm

Go on one of those boat trips, look out for the flying fish, stunning.
Take a trip to Gozo too, that is amazing.
If you get offered Lampuka in any shape or form, you must try it, it's their local fish and it is absulutely gorgeous.

Paradise Bay is as it says - Paradise.

Bit late to ask, likely you will be away before you read the replies!

Bugibba and Qawra (which has a casino) are fun but the hot place for nightlife is St Julians, and then further along the coast road is Sliema which is popular for shopping.

Generally food and drink is cheap, but I am told that the Marks and Spencers are more expensive than UK M&S.

We go there to escape the north european winter, but have not been there during summer.

Currency since the start of the year has been the Euro. Traffic drives on the left same as UK, and Fish and Chips and English style meals are usual.

If you are in Qawra, do visit Diana's bar and next door is the "Great Wall" one of the best Chinese restaurants. You have a good choice of destinations from Qawra bus station. There are many bars, but almost all show large screen football on TV when it is broadcast. As in the UK, football can be difficult to avoid, but that apart, Malta is fun, friendly and warm.

Check out the Silent City (Mdina) which has no cars, walk across to Rabat and take a look at the catacombs, take a trip to Gozo.

Try the Grand Harbour cruise which sail from Sliema. Valetta is fun, steep narrow streets and historic buildings. You have a wonderful view of the harbour from the Upper Barraca gardens.

Enjoy.

Like nowhere else in the Med. Like a little Britain if you like that kind of thing. Quiet at night as well as daytime. Safe and easy. Not that expensive. Hope you have some fun!

night life is a blast in malta. no curfews, friendly people, drinks are cheap, and all the great clubs are in one small place, so it makes bar/club hopping real fun. be sure to carry I.D with you though.

smoking is legal over 16, other substances (including weed) are strictly illegal. drinking age is 16 too, and being drunk in public won't get you in trouble unless you're causing any disturbance.

i don't think there are any funny laws...oh but remember that you can't go topless in public places lol (that goes for men too)

i don't know about things being cheap here except public transport and alcohol....but i can advise you against buying electronics...prices are stupid high here.

enjoy your time in malta! :)

I went years ago with my parents when i was about 16, had lots of fun! If you get chance go on the boat trip round the island. You go to the blue lagoon where the water is completely clear - I got told of for diving off the front of the boat lol well it was sooooo tempting! you can see all the little fishes clear as day. We also went on a small boat ride around all the little caves and things it was amazing! it is one of my most memorable family holidays

The night life in Buggiba is best. You also see them racing the horses, trotters, in the street so be careful lol
