Hello dear!
I do live in Greece. It is known that the climate of Greece, especially Attica is the best, worldwide. With the interference of people, who destroy the environment, cutting trees, etc., Mother Nature hits back with temperatures 5 - 10 degrees higher that they should be!
The heat wave is here, as every summer! |

I live in greece, but i am born and raised in the north of sweden (=not so hot). Its really hot here, especially for someone who think -40 degrees celsius is "normal". Well, sometimes its even painful my friend. But today i go to Parga for swimming and coffee. Just thought you should know. |

It is because it's summer.... It is because it's heatwave...
This very moment, I really cannot think of anything..
My only concern is that I am melting, my blood is boiling, my head is spinning and sweat is pouring out of every pore of my skin...
The only thing is that everybody in Greece has the justified right to shout " I am HOT!"!!!! With every possible interpretation!!! :D
Bring me some ice! |

It's generally quite hot in Greece June - August, but bearable, say low 30s. The heatwave we've just had (over 38) was a first so early in summer, but now has passed and we're back to normal temps. These heatwaves have always been around like in all countries, it's just that as Greece is hot anyway the heatwaves are much hotter!! I've been here 36 years and I can remember at least five or six really HOT heatwaves (when we slept outside, or on the floor to keep cool! and the tarmac melts) If the heatwave lasts more than a day or two, then it gets to be a problem as the heat builds up in the buildings, on the tarmac etc., added to the traffic fumes the atmosphere can be unbearable in the cities....which is why I don't live in one!! |

i dont live in greece, but i live in turkey. it is really hot in ALL of europe and asia. no, unfortunatley, it is not a heatwave. its probably becuase of global warming. its crazy!! just yesterday, it poured ice for about 15 min. somewhere in turkey. first, its warm, then cold, then really hot, etc. its crazy weather. the earth is startin to get tired of all this stuff. one day, its just gonna give up.
hopefully that day is not someday soon.
