Although the big majority of the citizens of the Republic of Skopje are considered to be of Bulgarian and lesser of Serbian origin, it is genetically proved that many citizens are also of Greek origin.
A late research made by international reputable geneticists has proved that there is an important number of the Yugoslav population that genetically belongs to the Greek genetic cluster. According to the anthropologist Dienekes in the results of this research it seems that "Former Yugoslavs are mostly disjoint from Greeks, except some who seem to be Slavicized Greeks, consistent with their descent from indigenous Balkan populations on one hand and Slavic immigrants more akin to Czechs and Poles on the other. Thus, they occupy an intermediate position between Greeks and Czechs."

If by Macedonians you mean the inhabitants of FYROM, no they are Slavs, Albanians and Bulgarians, which is no insult, other people are proud to belong to these origins.
Macedonians in Greek Macedonia are of Greek origin, but of course there is no racial purity anywhere else other than Hitler's mind! I myself am Greek, but my mother is genetically Italian.

Well, if you mean the ancient Macedonians, yeah, I guess so.

If you mean today's Macedonians, they have their own country and their own nationality. They are not Bulgarian or Greek or anything else. However you call them, you have to face that fact. Since the common name of that country is Macedonia nowadays, I would say they are Macedonians. (Not insinuating anything about Greek history here.)

Macedonians are pure nation, genetically originated from very ancient times. Descriptive name-Makos in ancien macedonian language meant high,Don-meant land, The first king Macedon, 8000 b.c.statue recently found in Govrlevo near Skopje, Dedal recently found in Plaoshnik-Ohrid, some excavations from Gradishte-Demir Kapija showed that Filip's II father, Macedonian King lived there, after Filip II moved his kingdom in Down Macedonia-Pela.
Even the modern times and some indoctrinated people can't say what Macedonians are, what they feel, it's in the genes to care about the identity, language, customs, music (bagpipe, pipe,drum) and everything possible connected with Macedonians.
Even, stolen history can't change what is true, in the heart of every people around the world feel like Macedonians.
