Are all drugs legal in Amsterdam or just marijuana?

Your history teacher told you that??? I can't believe what I'm hearing!!! Where on earth did he get his information and his education...
Only soft drugs like marijuana and dried magic mushrooms are tolerated/decriminalized. And there is a debate in politics going on for a while now to put the mushrooms on the opium list for hard drugs. They're not that "soft"...
Teach your history teacher a lesson because this is unheard of!

nah you dont want to do any drugs sold off the street. who knows whats in it. if you buy drugs, stick to the smart and coffee shops. as far as drugs being legal, i cant say anything other than what ppl have already answered have said.

I have been there 3 times so I know what I am talking about. NO drugs are legal in Amsterdam. Marijuana is the only drug that is accepted, but not legal. Technically they could arrest you if you smoke it, but they won't because it brings in all the tourism. You can find smoke shops there literally at every street corner. I don't know what's wrong with your teacher, maybe you misunderstood. But no drug is legal there!

Also a dutch cop told me that Marijuana it is not legal, just accepted.

The mary is fine... legal enough to go into a coffeeshop and ask for the 'menu'.

Others are not legal. That's the idea behind the system. If you ask for cocaine or heroine in a coffeeshop they'll ask you to leave. They will lose their license over those drugs. They are definitely not legal.

Other drugs that are legal: Mushrooms, alcohol, coffee.

Stores openly sold pot, hash and mushrooms - so I don't think you'll have any fear of those - despite the lawyer-speak that they aren't legal, they're just decriminalized.

Buy only stuff in a store, I'd recommend. On the street shady characters will ask you if you want coke or harder drugs. Your instincts will likely tell you to stay away even if interested.

Strictly speaking, I do not believe it is correct that you can do heroin legally.

Drugs are illegal in the Netherlands but the use of Soft Drugs (marijuana, hash, etc..) are tolerated. Heroin is illegal and your teacher might wanna do some research before making assumptions

Don't do other hard drugs because you could go to jail. Cannabis is ok but I'm not sure about ectasy.

It`s not legal but at the same time u can do herion as long as u not selling.BUT WEED IS LEGAL.......

General rules that coffeeshops require to abide:

* Minimum age 18 years, identification duty
* No alcohol, no hard drugs
* No selling goods
* No mobile phones (in some)
* Agression is not allowed
* No hanging around

Marijuana, hashish, and magic shroomz are all sold legally and accepatable. Everything else is also easily found but are illegal.
