I'm Icelandic and I used to live in Denmark. Finland and Iceland are considered Nordic countries and Sweden, Denmark and Norway are the Scandinavian countries. Some people here got it wrong.

Den mark is about the size of new Jersey. It is very close to Norway. There both in Scandinavia like Sweden and Finland. All in the northern part of Europe. (i should know I go there every year.)(in 2007 I went to Denmark 3 times and Sweden1 time.)

It is a tricky question to answer and some of us have to go back to school. .

The Scandinavian Peninsula consists of two countries, Norway and Sweden.
By historical reasons Finland might be included into The Scandinavian Countries as Sweden-Finland once upon a time has been one country for several hundreds of years.

Geographically Denmark is NOT a Scandinavian Country, as it is NOT connected to the Scandinavian more than by a bridge. On the other hand Scotland is on the same ridge as Norway and Sweden.

By language, the Danes speak a similar language as the Norwegians as the Swedish people and some Finns do, so in that case they speak a Scandinavian language even thou it doesnâ€™t sounds like that.

The Nordic Countries are;
Sweden, Suomi/Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, FÃ¤rÃ¶arna, and why not Ã…land and Greenland and have now and then been under the same ruler and laws, but some mentioned all of them as Scandinavian Countries.
Among the Nordic Countries only Sweden,Denmark and Suomi/Finland are members of EU. The Norwegians are clever enough to stay outside, as it should cost them too much to be within EU - oil and fish, as Norway is a very rich country, one of the riches in this world.
