Are the Bulgarians originally Turks?

Not trolling question. But i see some Bulgarians here who all the time support Greece and don't stop to spreed poison for Turkey.I mean isn't this a little retarded? If they really are the same race?

Both Bulgaria and Greece are Orthodox countries, and for many years they were under Ottoman control which we all know it wasnt that pleasant, so there is more sympathy and understanding between those countries and its feelings toward Turkey. Now that Bulgaria has recently joined the EU, relations between these countries are apt to get warmer and we can already see these results as Bulgaria favors Greece in Eurovision and many Greeks travel north to Bulgaria for vacation. Generally many Greeks have positive views about Bulgarians as a whole.

Btw, Bulgarians and Turks dont look alike, Turks look more like Anatolians and Arabs.. and Bulgarians more like Northern Greeks, Slavs and Romanians.

Bulgarians are the decendents of Bulgars, who were a Turkic people.Hungarians are decended from Huns also a Turkic people, our roots all stem from the same common family.

Erm..If we think that Ottomans were in Bulgaria..it's possible.
It's not about race. It's about..profit.

actually turk and turkic terms are not so different turk is used for the turkish citizens from Turkey that doesnt mean they're not turkic which includes all of the turkic speaking people has a wide meaning

just look at what bulgar tribe means and where did proto-bulgarians come from? bulgarians probably mixed with slavs, macedonians, thracians etc. just like the all other european countries there's nothing bad about it if we're not Nazis

They aren't Turks, but Turkic.

Totally Blunt
There's a clan called the Bolkar Turks in Asia. Maybe, just like Turks in Turkey and Huns in Hungary, a Turkic clan came and left some of its cultural and genetic legacy. I don't think Bulgarians are Turks or Bulgarians are Asians, but we all are a mix of ethnicities, so yes, it is stupid that they should so hate a neighbor.

Kiro
Not really.

Comparing a Turk and a Bulgarian is like comparing a German and an Indian. Germans and Indians once upon a time were Indoeuropeans but then they mixed with other people and they had a different historical course and the only thing left in common is the root of common words.

In this case Turks and Bulgarians don't even share a common language any more. But the most important is that only the original Bulgarian tribes who came in the Balkans were of turkic origin. The Bulgarian people now are a mix of mainly Slavic people, Greeks, Scythians and Thracians.

I know that you will have hard time to understand this. So please go over it slowly a couple of times.

Just stay in this section please. We don't want you in the Greek section.

Regards
The president of section Greece
