kaanyagizer is right. our banks were fuc*ed up in 2001 and all the system was renewed seriously.

You can trust them. ( i do)

But of course no bank is 100% safe. Just select the stable and major ones.

Buy your self a Safe to put your cash in,
far better than trusting gung ho banks.
At least you will know some greedy
bank hasn't squandered your money.
Banks are dodgey.

No bank is safe at the moment.Seems like Turkey is not in the middle of the crisis, but almost all banks in Turkey have foreign shareholders.

The best looks like keeping your money under your pillow.

Safe, you bet, it's the easiest thing in the world to put money in. Try getting it out! If you're a saver, great. If not, well you soon will be.

No bank can be safe enough. All are exposed to the subprime crisis in one way or other.

Most Turkish banks are bonded by to government who pay account holders up to approximately £25,000 if the bank fails. Some banks are extremly secure sush as HSBC the worlds largest bank and Garati which is 50% owned by GE the worlds largest company.

Financial system are % 100 safe at Turkey .. because we ****** up early .. at 2001 , after that collapse our government change the rules and obligations for whole financial system who operated at Turkey .. like If a bank loose the assets like happen at U.S for now ; some people going to jail for 10++ years , Inc.CEO - General Manager and all the board members because law said that.

That's why our bankers doesn't take heavy ( like hedge funds ) risks, because there is no one here for save the fat asses .. we don't rescue them .. If some body do illegal actions against financial laws & ethics we put him to jail with heavy criminals for long time.

If u have a account and/or money at Turkish banks u don't need to be worry about that .. If they act like a greedy cat's our treasury guys nail them .. legally

:-) .. I think fed must spend some time with our treasure guys for learn some technics from them.

Totally Blunt
I read today that people are withdrawing their money from small time banks and foreign banks that are under risk and putting it in big and trustworthy banks.

WTF?
AKP made Turkish economy stronger. Don't worry.
