Are there parallels between Bin Ladin and Erdogan?

Hi everybody!

I read the following article in Milliyet online today:

http://www.milliyet.com.tr/default.aspx?aType=SonDakika&Kategori=dunya&ArticleID=520186&Date=23.04.2008&ver=60

After that, I wanted to read the original text in that Australian newspaper. Here is the article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/opinion/give-muslims-time-to-find-democratic-feet/2008/04/13/1208024983377.html

IMHO the reaction of the Turkish Ambassador is completely unjustified. The article doesn't say that RTE is a terrorist. It only states that there are parallels between RTE and Bin Ladin and those parallels are real and justified.

What's your opinion on this?

Oh BTW:

Here is a picture of Erdogan kneeling before Gulbuddin Hekmetyar:

http://watch.windsofchange.net/pics/2005/media_128705_1_s%20kopiera.gif

This is a picture taken in 1985 but does it really change anything?

If you don't know who Hekmetyar is:

Yes there are a lot of similarity in the structure of ideas between of the two. They both are agnagonist of humanity... If different between of the two, Erdogan is closed, No says open himself idea, U.B.L is open.

what do you expect from people to say? even the EU support his party which came to the government with "democracy" which such reactionist people never approved of a few years ago. Now the concessioner and reactionist picture of Turkiye; AKP says "we changed".

lol...

i congratulate and appreciate Daniel Pipes...

in my opinion,RTE is the co-chairman of the Great Middle East project .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feWNvbXrz3s
in this video,he says "hani ABD nin GENİŞLETİLMİŞ ORTADOĞU PROJESİ varya , işte biz onun EŞBAŞKANLARINDAN birisiyiz."
BİN LADİN and HİKMETYAR was the best friends of the US ,in this days , they have some problems (petroleum problem) bettween them but RTE , now , he is the best friend not only BUSHT , also the best friend ,SARKO-Miss MERKO-GODFATHER SİLVİO .
therefore there is no parallels but there is one circle bettween all the persons ,above

just watch this :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjTRvWZ_PlA

it may be an old video but i don't believe that people can totally change their minds.Erdogan claims that " i have changed " but that's a lie!

Totally Blunt
If I wrote my opinion of ErdoÄŸan here, I would be charged with insult. You know how he sues all critics. If my appreciation of him were put to scale, it could only be measured with negative numbers.

People may not like him, even say "he is not my prime minister" but I think every rational turk with self respect would defend the democratically elected prime minister of turkey against such a disrespectful behavior. I wrote this without reading all answers, so it is not a targeted answer.

EDIT: I just read the answers: Come on guys, he is being compared to a terrorist leader!!!

Hey Bix,

Well, Although I don't like or agree on RTE and his politics at all, he is the Prime Minister of Republic of Turkey who is elected by a fair voting. In this case, I think the main problem here is the majority who gave him this much authority...

Nevertheless, I don't think it is fair to compare a Prime Minister to a terrorist -that I sometimes doubt a person named Bin Ladin even exists but that is another subject :) -

An Ambassador is justified to defend an elected Prime Minister of the country that he is representing. That is diplomacy and his duty.

The problem here is why does our Prime Minister have parallels with Bin Ladin. That is the sad and the confusing part.

readylaura
ErdoÄŸan will burn in hell for what he is doing to our republic.

PIETRO
I'm neither Turkish nor Muslim (even though I was born in Mardin), but I just can't understand why you are targetting a prime minister of an sovereign and democratic state, a state which is member of NATO and important ally of the West.
If your purpose is just starting a propaganda and defamation of Islam ,based only upon RTE's political and religious beliefs, and because Islam has a negative image due to terrorists who dare using religion for politic goals, then that's just indecent and unfair.

By the way, if someone makes such statesment about any minister or president, he can legitimally be charged and trialed.

Imagine, what if you said that Angela Merkel has parallels with Adolf Hitler?

Ben Laden is a monster, you can compare with him only criminals such as Pol-Pot,Staline, Hitler,Saddam,etc...

You make absolutely no sense. Bin laden is a terrorist, Erdogan is prime minister of Turkish Republic. and leader of a turkish political party. Bin laden is an evil war monger that feeds on disunity of Muslims. There are no parallels. Don't look for them
