Yes, but not satisfied enough. What I mean is, I think I do a good work by helping preserve the heritage, as I am an architect working at the conservation of monuments, but I feek there is so much to be done and I am doing so little. The same goes for other issues I am involved in, like rescuing animals, volunteering in some charities, etc.

The society should be honoured that I live in it ;)

I'm not proud of societie's contribution to me. I pay a lot of taxes and I get no services.

istanbul bogazi
For many things i can say yes. For example i help a lot of associations which try to save the nature, plant trees, clean the sea...
I try to learn, read,do to be more and more cultured everyday so that i can pass this to the future generations.(although i don't have any kids...)

Takis
Greek society asks to contribute but gives back a little if not at all back.

Experience shows me that the more you try to contribute the less you get back!

My advice is when in Greece DO NOTHING and you will be rewarded!!!!!!

zigzag
I am proud enough because i am a person who let another continetnt, anc came back to his homeland, to contribute in the local society

王
To the Global Society yes,a lot,to the Greek society...
even more.
The second,adjoins... but I'm an Optimist.
Many Greeks go back abroad again disappointed.Sadly.

@alexlascari Thats right.

@Takis I now exactly what you mean.

Yes.

By carefully avoiding becoming a parent my carbon footprint is tiny.

...for many things, yes...I would dare to hope that I have left my name carved in a few trees along the way

(great question)

EDIT: I don't actually carve trees...it's a comparison as to "leaving" my "mark" on society while I'm here
