Yes, I am too! It seems that when the light of the day has gone, so has my ability of thinking rationally...
My fears might be a bit unusual though. I'm not afraid of scary men behind my curtains, but of things with even a less chance to happen: like I'm starting to sweat and my heart starts to beat like a train when I think a snake might come out of the toilet when I have to go there at night. And whenever I visit my parents, I just run inside the house out from the garden, because I'm scared that aliens (type E.T.) are watching me (blush...)
BTW, Fyzzykitty's comment doesn't apply to me, my eyes are -5, making the dark even more obscure... woohoohoo
And don't both snakes and aliens have movement and night vision or some sort of thing?! |

I haven't been experiencing absolute dark and absolute loneliness for so long that I really don't know.
But when there's a power cut, I like to stop and listen to the natural sounds. I think that means I am not really afraid of the dark. |

It ıs normal to have these frights but you will have to get over ıt by time.
Personally I was afraid of the dark tıll age 10 but I came over ıt by challenging myself against the dark.
Now I am afraid of drinking too much Dark beer :)))))9)))))) |

The Dark has never been a threat to anybody since it is only a state (absence of light). It's the nasty things that often lurk in the cover of darkness that we have reason to fear, and for me, that entirely depends where I happen to be. I make a point of avoiding dark car parks and alleys for that reason, but the darkness of my own house during a power cut, poses no threat to me other than perhaps stubbing my toe or bumping my shin as I fumble around trying to find where I put the @#$%^&! flashlight and candles. |

Yes I am.
It is funny to admit it at the age of 37- but I still wake up in the middle of night sensing it if the power goes off .
I prefer to blame it to my wild sense of imagination and since I like horror movies , they are effecting it or I am nuts :) |

It depends on my psychological condition =p After I watch horror movies I just can't sleep in the dark without imagining the villain in the movie inside my room, perhaps preparing to kill me, torture or kidnap me. Then I start to link every single sound to the villain. ("omg what was that? He's in the kitchen?!" *screams in her mind*)
If it's a normal day, I can sleep in pitch black rooms. My room is always dark anyway. (haha I guess that isn't very convincing considering what's written in the first paragraph) |

No, I actually think it feels nice, if that makes any sense. It is almost as if darkness has a presence. |

In some cases, I still afraid of the dark.
Specially when I see frightening movies or when I know I did something bad. It's like a kind of punishment. |

In a manner I am! For instance when I'm all alone in a big flat at night, I always leave a light on-not in my bedroom. Also, when I walk in dimly-lit streets, I am often scared. Generally, I prefer not to be alone in the dark! |

Redcandy... Did I ever teach you????
I am afraid of the dark and the apartment I had for the earthquake scared me senseless. It was in Sakizagca Mahalesi and the bedrooms were in the back and I didn't like to go back their in the dark...so I would run from the salon to the bedrooms. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. I didn't have Lulu (my Van kedi) then, the keeps me brave. I'm not as afraid as I used to be. |
