Arkadaslar...If God gave you the chance to come back to your past, 20 years ago? What would you do ? |
Most of people have regrets, regarding some periods of their life...About things they should have done, about things they shouldn't have done...For example, a wrong carreer choice, a bad love story,etc...Myself I did these kinds of mistakes, having lost time and energy with a wrong person, or a wrong company, or having refused important propositions, or having been blind when a fantastic opportunity appeared...
What about you ?... Additional Details Hard'n Tender, you are right. At 7 years old, we don't know life yet, we can't know what is wrong or bad when we are child...Maybe I should have asked the question " to come back to your past, when you were about 18 years old"
In 1987, I was 15 years old... |

No Please .
22 years I went to school . I dont want to start it again. I'm happy with my mistakes and I dont want to live like a computer game. Save and play again.
But it can be nice to see my grandfather again.
Have a nice day. |

Good question!
Well I dont know if I would change anything in my life..another Carrier or another life style..
But I would do one thing for sure
I would have gone to my beloved ones who no longer live, and hug them tight..tell them how I feel how much I loved them and that they have a part of my heart
I would take their words deep in my heart, to keep there for ever...and hold our moments together in a golden box deep in heart
cause in everyday life we give importance to unimportant things and we forget to hold on to the moments
- Tanju, the same for me too! they were talking to me about their life in turkey but i didnt listen, I was a child and i wanted to go out to play instead of listening to "old stories"...I am so sorry too :( |

My dear friend, regardless our age, we are all eager and ready to invest in new persons that enter our lives, but the mistake we all make is that we dress them up with virtues and qualifications they don't really have but we'd like them to have. When reality is revealed, we feel disapointed or betraded but the truth lies with ourselves, with our illusions and expectations. It's the time we see the christmas tree bare naked, without the ornaments that our wishful soul had decorated it with...
And when the time comes that the wounds are healed, we just go on repeating ourselves, expecting that the soul mate might appear on the next turn of the road...
Though, by the time we get wiser and reacher, and we come to realize that perhaps precious loneliness is better than relationships and behaviours that make us unhappy...
In conclusion, we do not actually lose energy and time, only enthousiasm... |

Good Evening Manisali,
Nice question, I liked it ...
Well, 20 years ago, I was 22 years old and my grandfather and grandmother were at this world.
My grandfather always said, something about our Village (Ohiron - Thessaloniki),
But, I did not listen him. He says always, do not forget who were you, where did we come ...
Now, I am really to need to talk with them...
But it is so late ...
Sorry Grandfather and sorry Grandmother...
Thanks Manisali ...
Regards
Ps. To Anatolia,
Thanks Anatolia, I understand you very well, Take care ... |

I did a lot of silly things, too. I was 17 at that time.
But I would do exactly the same mistakes that I did then. Otherwise, it wouldn't be ''me'' who is writing you this answer. |

If I could return to 20 years ago, I would (hope) to choose to listen to my misgivings and my gut and not marry my ex just because his best friend and our pastor kept urging me to. That was the worst and most costly mistake I made. I lost so much time being with that man and it cost me my health in the long run. What really galls me is that the entire time I was dating him, I had severe misgivings and even tried to talk to our pastor about the things I was questioning. I wish I had given myself credit for better knowing what was best for me than someone else, even if that person was an authority figure. |

I wouldn`t choose the regrets if I were you...
I been there myself too regretting my actions but lately I have realized that what makes me me is my past experiences without them I would not learn what I had to learn and become the person I am....
yes I made wrong choices like everyone do but whats more important is that I am still standing strong that's all that matters,
Her işte bir hayır vardır ve herşey bir nedenle olur...
I could talk on this subject for hrs but will not do that to you people :D |

I would go back and tell myself not to worry too much......
Not to worry about not achieving enough academically, when it is actually having the right attitude that gets you the great job.
Not to worry about being a kilo or so overweight, when I was actually so slim back then.
Not to worry about being single, because the right person was to come at the right time.
Not to worry about a slight insult, because it was just one person's perception.
Not to worry about having enough friends, because true friends don't let you go.
Not to worry about being normal, because you don't have to be the same as everyone else to be comfortable with who you are.
Not to worry about making mistakes, because sometime in the future I would benefit from it.
Basically, I would tell myself not to worry about tomorrow, and spend more time enjoying today. It's not the mistakes you make, or the regrets you have - the things you achieve or don't achieve. It's about being comfortable enough with what you have and who you are to be satisfied. Or to regard problems as just a setback. If you have that attitude, you can always be happy.
I wish I knew all that 20 years ago....... |

It is the height of vanity and arrogance to say that you would live your life exactly the same over again.
Sure our lives are the sums of our actions. Every good time and bad experience come together to form the people we are today. We don't like the idea that we are not as good as we can be. We're always being told that we should love ourselves and it's only important to do your best. Being comfortable with the person you are and thinking that you are the best possible version of yourself are very, very different things.
Is there no thing in your life that could possibly be better?
Did you ever say something mean to someone by mistake?
Have you ever not acted when you could have?
In 20 years you can't think of a single thing?
Maybe your perfection should be an example to everyone?
The bad news is that you're not perfect. You should take a moment from time to time for some self reflection. Humility and the word "if" are forever linked.
Don't get me wrong, it's probably not a great idea to live your life thinking about all the opportunities you missed but *think* about yourself, *learn* from your actions, *lead* from experience and *live* your life. |

God has given that chance to each one of us for a life time.
Every single day you wake up to, should start with the question "what if today was my last day, how should I spend it so that I wouldn´t have to look back and think " I wish, I had.....!!!"
If you find yourself wishing you did one thing or another otherwise, than you should ask yourself "what about the days ahead of you" Are they taken care of? Are they going to turn out the way you want them to?
Our life on earth might have a physical beginning and an end but our spiritual life can always restart and on and on. And that has nothing to do with our age. |

I would only change some minor choices that I have regretted, mostly in order to help some people I failed to help when I could. And I would treat some work situations differently. But on a personal level and on the level of my career and study decisions, I would do the same. |

Sometimes I have wished that I had not done something in my life, so I would go back and try to fix it. But, like in a song by Carrie Underwood, lessons are learned (the name of the song is Lessons Learned). Also it could mess my whole life up. For example, I could change my career choice and get an even worse job. Another example would be that you may have made a bad career choice, but you found your loved one there because of your job. So I guess I would not want to go back and change my life. |
