Quite agreed... George Gershwin is my favorite, and I love Claude Debussy too.
Though I prefer a more distant era, the baroque music: Archangelo Corelli is my favorite.
And above all, because of my origins too, I love Italian Opera my favorite being Giaccomo Puccini.... Who has got quite an influece from Debussy...

I am very much into classical music, jazz and gospel.
Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, George Benson are my favorites in Jazz.
Brahms, Mendelsshon, Scarlatti in classical music.
Unfortunately many people in Turkiye don't like classical music and jazz.

I love classical jazz and big bands, musicals. I also like listening to latin-jazz. L.Armstrong is my fav of course.

I encountered classical music (symphonic music) in my first year at university in Ankara. I was lucky to meet some young (then) men from the State Conservatory. Then I became addicted to it. I spent every Friday evening at the Presidential Symphonic Orch. concerts. I even took my girlfriends to the concerts.
My favorites are Russian composers, Beethoven of course, Mozart, Brahms...
I have classical CDs in my office, including arias from the 3 tenors and I listen to them on my PC.

i like them both
i like Verdi (all operas), Mozart,Vivaldi, Beethoven (eventhough i am a good listener some of his work is too heavy for me)
and Jazz;
i am not very good with the classical jazz but i like Lois Armstrong especially with Ella Fitzgerald,
moderns,Crusaders,Al Jarreau,Randy Crawford,Spyra Gyra etc.
