The song is standard teyze-trying-to-dance-at-a- wedding pop and the Turkcell commercial with Kenan taking sexy pictures of girls who look like 13-year-olds is downright creepy. "You put your twist in me"--what kind of perverted lyric is that?!

Eurovision is just one huge cheesefest--many countries realize this--but Turkey takes its seriously for some reason. Voting has nothing to do with the actual quality of the songs, but is done along political lines as well as support from large expatriate diasporas (i.e. Turks in Germany, Russians in Israel).

Let the thumbs-down come :-)

PIETRO
I love music, but I hate politics...
That's why Eurovision Song Contest is always a ridiculous joke, unfortunately...

For example, if I'm Swedish, Norvegians vote for me ; if I'm Greek, Cypriots vote for me ; if I'm Turk, Bosnians vote for me ; if I'm Ukrainian, Russians vote for me ; if I'm Turk, Armenians never vote for me...And this happens always and always, no matter the song is good or bad...

Isn't it so pathetic?...

THE MAD TURKISH JAZZMAN
I am a Kenan fan, but I'm so disappointed by this song....It doesn't deserve to represent Turkey...

I think that Denmark and Cyprus had to be in the final.
Good luck Turkey with Kenan, good luck Greece with Yasu Maria, Sarbel.
Personally i will vote for Turkey...

Kenan was good, but he could do better. hope he will tomorrow.I did not like the dancers: too close to Kenan and trying to show off

Holland had a good song, but the lady was too static. reminded me of W.Huston : great voice, great looks but no "shake it "

as for former Russian: I think they are too many and if they give half votes one to another ( as Cyprus-Greece, Turkey-Bosnia,Scandinavian block) they are going up

as for ex-Yugo : Serbia managed to go to finals (Bosnia is already in)because it has a masterpiece.I did not like Slovenia ( too proffesional, maybe for another song competition).did not like FYROM also ( folk, but different)
and if you did not noticed THEY ALL HAD SONGS IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGES !!! nobody else.

as for Armenia, I did not fancy the song.and your 'comment' is two-sided blade

I cannot comment your last remark, did not understand.sorry

but I will comment the Israeli one: if one country decides to send a song to a competition, that song represents the country and the people. is it the face they want to show to Europe? is it how they want us to look at them? or is it just a step forward to show us what is their opinion on our IQ?

so :
if we are voting with our ears - I think that Serbia's song is far the best
if we are voting with our eyes - plenty of half-naked singers are in a line
if we are voting for our friends and neighbors - ex-Russian have a big chance
if we are voting as a single person / single opinion ( no politics ) - nobody will count our vote !!!!!!!!!

well, let us watch and let the best win !
good luck to all participants !

I really do not know the Turkish song yet (I work until late and I do not watch television) but the Greek group of Yahoo will vote for it, as I will, too.... Good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Kenan was great!!!

I liked his performance a lot...I think we have big chance to win this year....

I like the clothes too...its reminds me Ottoman:)

plus that girls was great....Kenana and HAREM :)

I am swear that I love you KENAN:)

I also want to wish good luck to all participant in the Eurovision2007 Contest!!!!

well Montenegro was good yes , but my favorite was Serbia .

Our song is not strong but with the turkish Community all around Europe ı think he will survive.

Christine
greetings from Ireland....i couldn't believe the songs that got through last night, the Swiss, Danes, Norway and Andorra had good songs, turkey was OK, i thought it sounded like the Greek winner from a few years ago, congrats on making it, but as for the rest! i was beginning to think the countries already in the final were voting for the worst songs to give themselves a chance. I'm beginning to wonder if judges should be given 50% of the votes, and the public decide the balance. fun as the show is it shouldn't become a joke.

Eurovision is all about politics. Unfortunately, they rarely look at the quality of the songs. Last years winning song is a very good example. I think it was one of the worst Eurovision songs ever yet they won!!!

I think our song is nice but Kenan couldn't sing very well.. I think he was actually shouting rather than singing.. Maybe he was nervous.. I am expecting a better performance at the finals....

Good luck Turkiye!!!!

Charmed
İ will vote for Greece but really Kenan was so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched it last night, and I have correction:
Don't know for former Soviet republics, but not all Yugoslavian did: Croatia and Montenegro didn't make it, and Bosnia was already in final.
Second, everybody in Eurovision vote in blocks, and that method first invented Scandinavians, and Greeks too always vote for Cyprus. By the way, I am sorry that Cyprus didn't make it, cause I liked the song.
To be hones, I didn't liked Turkish song at all (I have heard that he is some kind of favorite for final, which surprises me).
Oh, and that about Armenia was not really polite. Grow up, dude.

Montenegro's song was the best for me.
Kenan was good. But I don't like our song to much.
For quality of music we must be between 10 - 12 .
But If we calculate votes , population , and political reasons we can be in 8 or 6 .
Good luck to Kenan DoÄŸulu . He need it too.

Kenan will definitely take the 1st place. Why is armenia included in the contest?? They are far away from europe plus the noise generated was unbearable.

Qu'est ce que tu pense?
Well, I the last time I looked at the contestants for this year I made a list of my favorites and my...well, not so favorites. I think that Turkey has a definate chance of winning. Here's my list:
1. Finland, Hanna Pakarinen (reminds me of a European Amy Lee from Evanescence)
2. Turkey, Kenan Dogulu (very hip and new)
3. Spain, D'Nash (Although the guys aren't so attractive, they sing really well)
My Worsts:
1. Ukraine, Verka Serdyuchka (I have to give him points for his cheerfulness, but still...ugh!)
2. Britain, Scooch (too lame for me to handle)
3. Greece, Sakis Rouvas (come on...he is trying to be like Ricky Martin or something)
4. Belarus, Dmitry Koldun (If you looked at the video for his song, you will notice that he's trying so hard to be like Aerosmith in Jaded)
