Pakistani people, (Muslim Indians of that time) did a lot of contributions during Turkish Indepence war. We still have very good relations with Pakistani people.
You might already know that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is one of most genius man of all history. Both as a soldier and as a leader. That is accepted by many people, some of them are non-Turkish. He leaded Turkish people to get the independence back and to create modern republic from a falling empire. So he is our Qaid-i Azam (Ulu önder) like Pakistani's Mohammed Jennah :)
So it is not surprising to see that our Pakistani brothers have given name of Ataturk to a street in their capital city.
One of my Pakistani friends in college asked me whether we have Mohammed Jennah street. I did not know about Cinnah (Jennah) street in Ankara at that time. But today I know, it is one of most prestigious streets in Ankara.

It 's as a courtesy to that person. We do the same too.

no
there is one in korea

Ask your government. It is probably an act of courtesy and respect towards Ataturk.

You must be proud of that name.

Ataturk was a great leader - probably one of the greatest in the history of the 20th century world and surely the greatest in the history of Turkey. Every country should be proud to display his name -- no questions asked. Hope it helps.

These two countries are friends ;-) You know, England wanted to take Turkey and have money from it like it did from India..But we didn't let them..So it was a example for Pakistan.Because of this they love Atatürk so much ;-)

PS: I didn't understand why I got thumbs-downs but our history teahcer told us like this.So this is %100 true information.

Same reason with having Cinnah street in Ankara

When I was a kid, Pakistan and Turkey had good relations. We even listened to songs like "cive cive cive Pakistan" (don't know how it is spelled in English, wrote the Turkish spelling). Today, this friendship seems to be forgotten.

Edit: Noluyo be? Enrty kotuleme mafyasi mi var burada da?
