Don't give your bank details out!!
However some banks do allow you to prevent money being taken from your account from certain companies.
A way you could test it is by maybe giving them details to an account you don't use very often, or open up a separate account specifically for that...put a small amount in the account say £5 for example and see what happens.
If you really are interested then ask to see some form of contract, when you start employment with any kind of company (I'm based in the UK so this may differ in other places) they ask for bank details so they can pay your wages directly into it!!
Unfortunately you have to be very careful now, you may have no problems with this particular company but they maybe selling your information onto other untrustworthy companies! |

Please and please again - do not accept the offer from your colleague to do as above. You should never give your details of accounts - bank etc., and it surprises me that you do not realize this already. All to many scams going on - you will be fleeced for sure - so NO No no. |
