Leonidas are indeed belgian chocolates, and very nice too. Theres several places you can get them in London. I get mine from their shop in Copthall Av just south from Finsbury Circus - which curiously isnt mentioned on their website. |

One choose to produce good quality mass chocolates and choose the brand name Leonidas . To honor the famous spartan general? The other went for the top quality product under his own name: Daskalides. He sold his product in the upper class commercial centers in Belgium: avenue Louise, Knokke Le Zoute, Veldstraat Gent etc,
After the death of the founder, dr.Jean Daskalides, his son Alex developed the business into what it is now: a small transnational with branches all over the world and a main factory in Gent Belgium |
