I live permanently near Kalamata & the area has everything to offer. Beaches, nightlife in Kalamata, mountains, sites & amazing & varied scenery. The peloponnese has so many different aspects you will never be bored!

Mykonos and athens... beautiful!

Kalamata, seriously I lived in Greece for two years with my family. Unlike the other parts of Greece (Athens), the place is not inudated with smog or tourist traps. There are so many islands like Mykonos where they are just waiting to scam you. Since I am American (and look like it) they try stupid little scams on you like changing lamb out with pork.

Kalamata is near a clean, nice beach. The water is clear and I have seen several dolphins in the waters. It is used as a party epicenter for all the Greeks.

Athens Southern Suburbs: Glyfada, Voula or Vouliagmeni.

These places are within walking distance from the beach and are lively all year round.

Plus they are near Piraeus where you can catch ferries to all the islands.

I wish could live in Preveza or better Kanali which is near,or Mytikas .That's where I want to live at summer cause at winter time I love my house up in the mountains in a small village at Ioannina.Yia sou.

I'm from Patra but I will not tell you that Patra is the best place just because I'm from there.
For me, the first one is myknos... I love mykonos with all my heart.

The other place that I like is Athens because the nightlife but If you wanna have good beachs and good nightlife you have to go to mykonos!

Santorini, Crete, Rhodes are my favorite. Also towns near Mount Olympus are beautiful!!

If i understand correctly you said 'to live'well forget any small island that is alive in the summer ,the winters are boring.
I like to live very close to Athens but not in Athens.My preferred place is Corinth and Loutraki.It's 45 min. from Athens a nice drive towards sanity.
I can spend all my day in Athens do my shopping or what i have to do and then go to Loutraki by the sea for supper,or coffee and desert and i don't need any thing else.
The atmosphere changes drastically when you drive away from Athens,but at the same time you can't beat the night life ,galleries,theater,shopping and much more.
